Lovely mountain lake with a waterfall right in the middle. Easy to find a quieter place around for a little break to enjoy the view. Not too difficult access. We really enjoyed it even with not the best weather

Lac d'Oo is an artificial lake located in the town called Oo, in French Pyrenees. Here is a beautiful excursion between the town and the first lake, and really you can continue to go to other two lakes. Pitifully, I came here an extremely foggy day and when I arrive to the lake, I could not see nothing (neither the waterfall). I try to continue, but then it begins to rain. Really, it was not the best day to do the trekking. Probably next time!

Probably took us 90 mins to walk from the car park, pretty tough going in places if your not used to it. A tad disappointing when we reached the lac, doesn’t compare to lac Gaube but still nice...nice cafe at the top, but the toilet OMG you definitely need a mask preferably a gas mask it was disgusting!!!
The walk down was surprisingly easy and took less than a hour, done it wouldn’t do it again.

I walked 2 times up to Lac D'oo. It is more difficult than one is led to believe. Took me at least 1 hour and 30 mins each way (with stops for photos) and I would advise you to wear proper walking boots. I am a fairly experienced walker, so this is definitely NOT a tourist's stroll. Was relatively quiet in December and January. Like most of the French Pyreness virtually nothing open for refreshments. Take sandwiches and a flask and enjoy them overlooking the Lake. It's possible to continue walking to a refuge higher up and on to the G10 path. This requires more equipment . We were glad of our spikes to put on over our boots when we walked up as the ground was partially frozen in January. Later buy some fabulous Lac D'Oo trout in the Luchon produce market on Saturdays.

We hiked 2 miles from the parking area up to Lac D’Oo. A little steep in some places but a wide open trail the whole way. At the top was a lovely little restaurant where we enjoyed lunch and the beautiful view of the lake and waterfall. So worth it!

Loved the beautiful lake! It's a hard hike up, you need shoes, takes about 70 minutes, but well worth the effort. No swimming, but there were swimmers 🙂.

Nice climb to the lack, but a bit crowdy. The view is beautiful, but not very special. Near the lack is a little cafè where you can have a drink or a meal.

It's quite an uphill journey and clearly one that is popular locally but definitely worth it. It's a beautiful manmade lake

There is a big car park at the base and two cafes/restaurants, hinting at the fact that a lot of people come here. Some just walk a little way up along the pastures with alpine cows with their bells, others make it all the way up to the top. The lake is beautiful and you appreciate its beauty more if you carry on up to the col d'Espingo. We are in our early 70's and took 5 hours for the round trip, finishing with refreshments down at the restaurant.

This is a nice and easy hike. No wonder there were so many people around. It takes about 1h15 to get to the lake. Generally, no swimming is allowed here, which is quite a pity. There are a lot of spots next to the lake to sit and take in the scenery. We also tried to walk around the lake all the way to the waterfall, but could no longer find a pathway. If you forgot your picnic you can have lunch at the restaurant looking out over the lake. The descent, which is usually the trickiest part, was also easy and took us less than an hour.

Bonjour,
