Many dedicated personnel are working hard to educate people IRT to sloths and other animals as well as help the animals return to the wild. Looks like the animals are well cared for and the facilities adequate. Nice that everything is just a short walk...More

The lonely things interesting of this tour was the sloths. We paid 20 dollars each for this mini zoo camouflaged as rescue center. The guide a small unpleasant ticos, was all the time pushing us to shorten the interaction with sloths in order to go...More

Very inspiring morning spent at this rescue and research center for endangered and/or wounded animals - like sloths, monkeys, frogs. Also there is a beautiful butterfly house and orchid nursery. Along with the professional staff, there are volunteers from the Smithsonian Institute.

All of the animals here have been rescued. Many they reintroduce to the wild but some unfortunately cannot be set free for various reasons.

While birding on the extensive grounds of the Gamboa Rainforest Resort, I virtually stumbled upon this interesting feature. It is not featured in any information provided by the resort itself. It provides a nice variation of activities within a short walk.

Was fortunate enough to see Fiona, the rescued jaguar, before she moves to her permanent home. What a beauty! Attended a delightful and informative presentation featuring Coquito, the three-toed sloth ambassodor. Now that was a treat!

We went with my daughter and her 7 and 9 year old children to see this place. It is managed by conservation minded biologists who capture injured animals in the jungle and rehabilitate them to be released back into the jungle. They are very knowledgeable...More

The animals here are rehabilitated and rescued. The staff have the upmost respect for the animals so do not treat them like they are in a zoo. It is important to understand that they won’t be able to be handled. However, it... More
