Swimming with turtles!!
Sep 2021 • Friends
I would definitely recommend going here. If only it was for the chance you get to swim with a turtle here.

We went with the plan to swim here, but didn’t really think we would be swimming with turtles.
Once you get there it’s clear wether there are turtles or not, you can tell by the amount of people in the water. Maybe we got lucky, maybe they are there more often.

We got to swim with the turtles on the left side of the island, there is a small passage and a very steep stairs leading towards a very small very slippery spot where you can enter the water. This is very bad organised!

The entrance price is 5€ p.p. which gets you a free keychain with your photo on it. A nice remembrance. (We read that this gets you a free drink as well, but didn’t seem to be the case anymore)

Besides that it has a small ‘cafe’ and a beach on the right side of the island. This has a nice look and feel to it, and you can swim here as well.

Conclusion:
As almost everything on Zakynthos; the nature is beautiful, but the charge for it and keep in badly accessible and badly organised.

Romantic spot
Aug 2021 • Friends
Quite a charming beach, right off the coast, connected with bridge. It is both romantic and amusing to visit and a nice view when on agios sostis beach.

Tourist trap
Sep 2021 • Couples
You just cros the tiny bridge in order to pay 5 euros for the entrance to... What? Too hard to describe the deception. Save your money, don't go there, Zakynthos is so beautiful.

An original place to jump in the cool and clear water
Aug 2021
There used to be a discoteque in this tiny island, but now it is an original place to check the turtles, have a drink and jump into the water. Its back bay has some hanging drapes from the top of the hill that add to the beautiful views of the sea. Close, easy to visit and original.

Nice but they may try to overcharge

Nice spot, relaxing atmosphere but be very careful buying the fridge magnet photo souvenir, they tried to charge me double at the exit.

Cool for snorkelling
Aug 2021
The idea of seeing turtles on small island that can be reached by wooden bridge definitely brings the attention to all people. And that's the problem: there is a platform, not an actual beach so if you want to sunbathing peacefully- go to another place. It's really crowed because of the peak season. However, Cameo Island is really good for snorkelling, but you can still hear the noises of the boats and small cruise ships. And REMEMBER- if you see seagrass- stay close to it- this is the favourite food of CARETTA CARETTA!

No covid-19 measures whatsoever!
Aug 2021 • Couples
No covid-19 measures here whatsoever!
The big sticker at the entrance says "covid certificate (jab or pcr test etc) is mandatory to enter" yet when I challenged the guy who was in charge why he doesn't ask the customers for the certificate he said "the government made us put the sticker there, I don't care about the certificate" being super disrespectful and all.

Something different to do
Jul 2021 • Couples
Friday 23rd July and we walked across the hand made footbridge, from Agios Sostis Port to the Island.

Once on the Island we followed a pathway to the foot of a set of stone steps, which led up to the headland of the Island.

It was here that we learnt that there was a €5 entrance fee per adult. We were told to present the photographer inside and we would receive two free keyrings with our photos enclosed, we gave that a miss.

We took a pathway which took us to the steps down to a small beach. It was not a sandy beach and people were sunbathing on the pepples or paved areas. There were some static umbrellas along the beach.

Some were here with the intention of staying a while here, why not, a nice place to swim and snorkel. It was a bit busy when we were here, can imagine it is crammed during peek times.

We walked to the other side of the Island, less than 5 minutes, it was very much quieter. All that was here was a large pontoon covered in plastic grass. From here people were snorkeling, the sea was a bit deeper on this side. We walked down the steps, carved into the rocks then shoved our feet in to the warm sea at the bottom.

On the top of the Island there was a bar serving drinks. We did read that the entrance did include a free drink at the bar, not today it was keyrings included.

We were here about an hour, definitely something different to do, a visited to this rugged old island

Nice stop
Jun 2021 • Family
The small beach is very nice. You have some pictures to take, that's sure. But 1-2h is more than enough for this location. The bar is also a good spot to spend some time.

Beautiful Island and the view from the wooden bridge towards the island is stunning. The sea is perfectly bright and nice to swim in. You pay a little entrance fee, but they make a picture from you and put these in a keychain and you get 2 of them for free once you leave the Island
