We will first go to the local cheese maker, where we we watch Yannis on duty...(Available : 01/11 to 14/06) or We start from the local Olive Oil factory where the specialist will demonstrate the olive oil production process...(Available : 15/06 to 30/10) Then we drive to the 14th century Byzantine church in the heart of a ravine... We continue with the visit to the last person in Apokoronas, who makes sheep and goat bells... We then visit the authentic, old olive-press, the last one left nowadays in Apokoronas, where Leonidas still produces his bio olive oil! We see his wild goats known worldwide as "kri-kri" (a unique chance, because these animals are rarely seen) and we have our meal at his tavern, cooked by his wife...

Always a delight to spend time with George and all his associates in the villages around Vamos. Such a diverse range of local products are made and sold in this area and there is always something new to learn about the complexities of this wonderful part of Crete

Where to start? The whole tour with our guide George was unforgettable!. If you want to see original places and experience a true Cretan environment, this is the trip for you. We learned about how olive oil, goat bells (yes, really!) and essential oils were made by local producers who took the time to make us very welcome. Top of... More

This tour is well worth going on , you get to see fantastic places you wouldn't find by yourself. The guide George is great fun and very good company , he is a local man and a mine of information about the area and its history. Although it takes up some of your holiday time , it's absolutely essential to... More

Probably one of the best ways to experience authenticity away from the bustle of bigger cities and planned tours. The aromas are delectable and make sure you go with a healthy appetite. Although the food pretty much everywhere in Crete was amazing, it's something else when it's this personal.

Loved Cretan food, specially the dry bread with herbs and tomatoes. The best Greek food I've tasted.

Simply Wonderful freshly made and lots of choice, we also buy it for home use but it was even better fresh at the location.

This trip really made our holiday. The content was excellent and interesting and the food and wine at the taverna just kept on coming. As we were in an apartment we ate out every night in various tavernas but this one was vastly superior to all the others and that is after saying that the food everywhere was very good.... More
