A good choice...

This can be a good choice to find your peace, tranquility and calm. You can find good spots to swim and also one of the best spots in Europe for birdwatching.

Very hard on your feet and full of weed, also a toilet for dogs and cats which we saw them doing thier business on the beach next to the sun beds and tavernas. The square in Skala Kallonis was shut of to cars at night but mopeds were in abundance and were flying into the square which was a danger... More

Everywhere in the volcanic island of Lesbos, you can find great stones on the shore. Many colours, spectacular forms...But in the wonderful bay of Kalloni, mostly in Skala Kallonis, you can also find incredible shells (some of them seem to be millions of years old, as they are petrified, but i am no expert in that area) and an unbelievable marine... We styled at Skala Kalloni, right in the centre of the Gulf and hired a car to explore. At one end we went into a taverna that according to the waitress had not served any English visitors all summer. It was interesting seeing the different areas as we travelled around the gulf. Some lovely sand beaches but be warned, there... More

If you like small and pebble beaches this area is very suitable and also quite. Will need a car to view most of them

Fine silty sand, very shallow for a long way out, sediment/sludge underfoot in the water, lots of weed growing.

Strongly recommended to go to this bay during off season.Driving through the bay side roads you are going to see many small bays with some nice sandy beaches and crystal clear water. Most of the times sea is like a pool and you may not enjoy swimming here as you can feel like you are in a lake.Plenty of facilities available... It is hard to imagine how many interesting beaches, hotels, restaurants and sites one can find around the gulf. The natural beauty is striking, and the diversity will keep you busy for weeks. Tip: Some of the best beaches and sites are on the small roads on the sides of the gulf. Explore!
