We spent 3 hours here one day, travelling up from Ponta Delgada , which is handy enough by bus. The spa is incredibly cheap , 4 euro entry per person and 1 euro to rent a locker. The place is very well kept and had...More

the place has 5 naturally heated pools, 4 of which are at 38C , very unusual, beware, if you coat yourself (and others) in the orange clay you are likely to spend the next week trying to scrub it off)

We visited this place in the morning (as advised by a previous review on trip advisor) and loved it!! It's incredibly relaxing and was very quiet. We then asked for a 'returners stamp' (included in the price of general admission) and went sight-seeing for the...More

Must try this lifetime experience you will not regret it! Just be forewarned that you need to pay extra for locker and a warm shower- otherwise very cold shower will be all you get!

These hot springs are in a lovely setting, a great combination of manmade facilities and natural surroundings. A great activity on an otherwise cool and rainy day.

Lovely relaxing few hours. Just a few euros (I think it was €4) to enter so it's azamingly good value. Changing rooms are provided. You can hire a towel, which is a good idea as the iron in the water stains, so also wear a...More

28 to 39 degree Celsius thermal waters pools, with several cascades, and medicinal muds, surrounded by exuberant vegetation. What an outstanding journey spent there !

The stream through the centre of the beautiful gardens runs at 82°F/ 28°C. This is where you go to cool down! Astonishingly the various pools maintain a little over 39°, which in most people induces a rosy glow. Aficionados daub their face with rusty deposits...More

Very relaxing, however thought you would have more of natural scenery. The parking was awful...inadequate amount of space needed for all guests.

We traveled here in early June with our 7 month old. The water is warmer than a swimming pool but not as hot as your typical hot tub. Our daughter loved it and so did we.

Hi, we were there in March. Although a little busy, it was still very enjoyable. It's such a nice environment that everyone is pretty relaxed. There were a few children there but they all seemed to be on their best behaviour... More

I found the cooler pool at the end of the path less crowded, it's quite pretty with a natural waterfall at one end and warm water spouts if you find the pool too cool.
