Fun ride with bit of guilt...

As part of the jeep tour, we got to do this before lunch. It was hot so we've decided to wear the arab dress that was offered to us.

It was a fun experience but my family and I were saddened by the mistreatment of the poor camels, it was a very short experience, but the pictures and costumes handed out were good fun. However I wouldn't recommend going unless it is part of an excursion.

OK place in the northern part of the island for those wishing to ride camels. A 15-20 minutes round tour at 5 Euros for children, 10 for adults. Plenty of animals (goats, rams, donkey, young camels) in the back, but we got no offer to feed them or just visit this part by foot, which kids to love.

So enjoying a nice first time holiday with my boyfriend, we looked through the excursion brochure and saw this trip. I adore animals and was very excited to see these amazing camels who from the brochure picture looked well kept, happy, clean and were pictured, one camel on its own with no chains/ muzzle etc. So came our time to... We visited here during our recent holiday, late June, decided to do something a little different so booked. Great value at €27 each which included the bus trip and small light snack of a piece of chicken and a bread roll along with water or wine. So for the ride, we donned our attire of blue robe and head scarf... More

If you want to do something completely different then this is the place to go. I thought we'd be actually sitting on top of the camels but instead we sat in wooden seats on each side. This meant that sometimes the camel dragged you into the bushes ( a good job they weren't spiky !) It was a really strange... More

If you've never been on a camel ride before I would definitely recommend it. It was a very good experience for me, my husband and 4 year old daughter. I thought it was quite cheap and so was the gift shop - in fact we bought a lot of our gifts from there because they were better priced than in... More

My boyfriend and I visited the Camello Center as part of a jeep safari excursion, booked through Thompson before our trip to Tenerife. The Camello Center was the last stop on the visit, after a stunning view of the island and a meal that was included in a lovely restaurant overlooking the coastline, not to mention the breathtaking views of...
