We have planned to see Mused des Automates every year that we've been to Limoux and finally made it this year. It is a little bit off the beaten track and might not be suitable for our most sensitive granddaughter. But it was like taking...More

We were spending time in Limoux in between our holiday rentals and came upon this museum. It was totally different to anything we had ever seen before. Might be scary for young children. The artistry on the clothing is amazing and the whole thing is...More

We came all the way on the train from Carcassonne (€1 each way bargain) to see this museum and we are so glad we did. From entering the walkthrough part you suddenly find yourself in something of a dreamlike place. The music is enchanting and...More

This museum was very close to the house we were renting in Limoux, so we gave it a try. It also looked a bit bizarre and therefore interesting on the Youtube videos that a lot of people had posted. It is smaller than one might...More

Do not pass this place. You must enter. You will never forget. Really, you won't. There are few places as weird and wonderful as this little gem. It could be a place of nightmarish intent. For some it most definitely will be.

I really enjoyed visiting this small museum in the town of Limoux. Interesting automates and an amazing workshop that helped me to understand the process of creating these moving models. The people who ran it were very helpful.

Limoux is a charming place which is well worth spending some time in - maybe drinking a beer or coffee in the medieval square. But the town also has some genuine surprises the musee des Automates being one and a must-see. Located just over the...More

I guess I have always liked automatons and I instantly thought this would be a museum of old mechanised figurines as in 19th century. However this was not the case. These are modern hand crafted fantasy figures, dressed in fantastic costumes, with good lighting and...More

This is a really weird place but it's beautiful and well worth a visit. The two people who run it make the models and their workshop is really interesting to see. 6€ for an adult and takes about 30 minutes.

did not know what to expect but was really blown away (yes and alittle scared ) by the mechanical models and the staging. Also really enjoyed going round the work shop and learning more of the process
