Not exactly what name implies VIP3. Missing dishes. Two patios, but no patio furniture? Cleaning left some questions..

Tough exercise, can you do it?

Tahkon portaat or stairs offers a great high intensity exercise which is good after many days of feasting. The top gives beautiful view to Tahko and to broader forest scenes in Savo. It took us maybe 10-15 minutes to the top.

The longest panorama stairs in Finland

Tahkonportaat (Tahko Stairs) start next to Restaurant Tirol and they lead on the top of Tahko Hill. There are about one thousand steps there. So these are the longest wooden stairs in Finland. In summer this a nice place for exercise but also a very nice place to admire the scenery.

It isn't too hard to climb these stairs. We did that during a heat wave when the temperature was +30 degrees Celsius. And actually we did that twice.

If you turn right on the top and walk 500 meters, you come to the marvelous Panorama Bar. But if you turn left on the top and walk 500 meters, you come to the charming Restaurant Pehkubaari (Pehku).

If you don't want to walk both up and down these stairs, you can take a panorama lift. It operates next to Panorama Bar. It is also possible to walk back to the village of Tahko from Pehkubaari along the path through Huutavanholma nature conservation area. Notice that in that case it is a good idea to have a map. Notice also that the path through Huutavanholma is partly quite rocky.
