Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

County Wicklow is called the "garden of Ireland". It really makes justice to that title. Mount Usher Gardens are a hidden gem. Well-maintained footpaths and flora make it a great place to spend a day with family and friends.

Lovely place to visit but reception we got at the garden cafe was terrible. After walking around the gardens we decided to have a cup of coffee outside in the cafe. We had already had a cup earlier in the delicatessen beside cafe in a takeaway cup but wanted a proper cup or mug this time. The manager/waiter told us we had to have something to eat with it we couldn’t have coffee on it’s own. We told him we just wanted coffee in a proper cup and he ushered us out of the place and told us to go to the delicatessen. He was very rude and arrogant towards us, there was just 3 of us. We will never visit the cafe again.

Very lucky with the weather, visited Mount Usher on a lovely afternoon - which unfortunately may be why finding parking was so difficult, ended up on the road squeezed between two SUVs. Went for coffee before entering the gardens, a bit overpriced especially given that it was a self-service coffee machine which wasn’t actually working properly. The gardens though are beautiful - we did a self-guided tour using the map that’s available at the entrance, which meant we could take our own sweet time. Some stunning specimens in the gardens and it is really well maintained. It’s a nice place to visit but make sure your parking skills are up to scratch!

visiting ashford in co wicklow we dropped into these gardens and it also had an Avoca cafe, shops & a restaurant and take away store for coffee & cake in a courtyard setting.

the garden itself you pay into seperately and it is beautiful. the species of trees are truly gorgeous and the smell in the air near the small river, delicious.

brought the fam with 2 teens, one 5 year old and 1 in a pram-expensive day out but the weather was beautiful so we picnicked in the gardens with our own packed lunch then on leaving, entered the courtyard and sipped a coffee while people watching

a lovely family day out

The gardens are really outstanding , so well looked after .
So many species of tree , lots of them unusual .
Gorgeous flowers and shrubs and lots of benches for resting and eating lunch .
Definitely one not to be missed .

A really nice walk along the water that smelled so nice because of all the trees and flowers. Cute gifts for purchase. Store had delicious food to eat on outdoor tables. Very friendly staff.

The autumn colours were just appearing on the trees while some shrubs still were flowering. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

This park needs to become dog friendly. They're losing out on so many potential visitors because frankly I wouldn't go for a walk without my dogs. Maybe they wouldn't need to charge such an extortionate entry fee if more local dog owners could attend. There are places nearby such as the botanical gardens at Kilmacurragh which are free.

Visited these beautiful gardens last week with 3 ladies I support, one of which is a wheelchair user. She happens to be the reason we came here, she adores nature & gardening. There was a "suggested route" by which we were advised to follow, it brought us to the left of the entrance & was lovely however, it was not an easy ride in a wheelchair as there were lots of bumps & bangs along the way, the paving isn't great. The other side of the garden was pretty inaccessible to be honest, I had great difficulty at one point trying to push the chair up a hill that was covered in gravel so I kept slipping. It was a workout & not that enjoyable for the lady.
The gardens themselves are absolutely fantastic & the staff are lovely. The facilities for wheelchair users really need to be considered more here as I really wouldn't recommend a wheelchair user going here & in this day & age that's not really good enough

These gardens are magical and well worth a visit. If you enjoy seeing beautiful trees and plants in a wonderful setting you will enjoy the gardens. They are set in a great landscape with a river flowing through. Some of the trees were planted over a 100 years ago so we are seeing the work started over a century ago . There are different paths and trails and we used the free booklet to follow the tree trail. At the entrance there are some small shops and coffee / food area and a nice garden centre. Congratulations to all involved in the upkeep of this great garden, it is a treasure.
