About
The Cill Rialaig Arts Centre was built in 1995 in the little Gaeltacht village of Dun Geagan, Ballinskelligs near Waterville and Cahersiveen. It features a wide range of exhibitions, programmes and workshops. Described by the London Times recently as a most modern and impressive art centre it has never lost the welcoming and warm ambience despite its little museum like architecture. The Arts Centre is associated with the international artists' retreat, Cill Rialaig, and many of the artists, Irish and International, who have been resident at the retreat leave works for sale at the Arts Centre to help support the Project. You are likely to run into well known artists, poets, writers and film makers who enjoy meeting one another and the local community as well as sampling the excellent food in the Cill Rialaig Café. In 1991, The Cill Rialaig Project began the rescue and restoration of a small pre-famine village on Bolus Head at the very end of the Iveragh Peninsula, thus creating the artists' retreat that has now attracted more than 3,000 artists from Ireland and from across the world. The Cill Rialaig Arts Centre offers the local community and general public the opportunity to meet and experience the work of the resident artists without disturbing the more remote and protected Cill Rialaig Retreat. Here, in addition to painting and sculpture, you will find fine crafts, decorative items made by artists, books, photographs, unique postcards, and small gifts.

Stopped here for coffee after walking the Bolus Head -
friendly welcoming service, and quality food; excellent scones (some of the best I have had anywhere) and good coffee.

Relaxed atmosphere. Friendly waiting staff. Had lovely red wine with pizzas and homemade chips. Pizzas came with salmon instead of mackerel and sausage instead of pepperoni with no explanation. However, both pizzas had a lovely thin crust which could be enhanced by a more flavoursome tomato base. All in all a good meal.

Visited this week with friends, had the tastiest pizza I've had in years, with suet chips that were truly amazing. The service from our waitress Sinead excellent. Surprisingly it wasn't that busy but feel it needs better advertising, however this suited us, very relaxing atmosphere, will definitely visit again

We were staying near by so we had called in previously to see what was on offer. A tasty but limited lunch menu and Pizzas only after5pm.
So we called in the following evening. The sourdough pizzas were delicious. The suet chips were the nicest I've ever tasted. Had the recommended Italian red wine -fab. THE salad was simple and tasty. I must compliment the staff especially Sinead who was so helpful friendly and accomodating. The 6 of us had such an enjoyable evening.thank you we will call again when we return next year.

Unexpectedly beautiful and exclusive collection in this tiny village. Watercolours, oils, glass, ceramics and weaving alongside a tasteful little cafe with lovely cakes and fancies. Charming host too.

The website indicates that, while the café is likely closed for the season, the ARt Centre is open. I have driven by three times and is has not been open at all.

So we came up here for breakfast on a Monday to be told they don't serve food until Wednesday. Signs everywhere saying open for breakfast... big no no for me. She's up going to the little cafe down by the beach for a fab toastie... pub also doesn't do breakfast

What a lovely place. The art may be a little niche but some of the best food in Kerry. Firstly it is a lovely intimate venue to sit and relax while you wait. But you will not be waiting long due to the very rapid service. Outside sits the wood fired pizza oven which in combination with the chefs skill produces some of the best pizza I have eaten outside of Italy. The chef is very passionate about his food and took the time to have a chat with us after the meal. Best of all was his ability to cater to a variety of diets - vegan/gluten free. All of this for a very reasonable price. 10/10 would eat here again.

Whilst visiting a friend in Ballinskelligs, I found this Arts Centre and decided to have a look around , enjoyed a coffee ,& cake !
The Centre is set out very well and it was lovely to see all the artwork ,I have an art back ground so it was of special interest to me , I did think some paintings were way too overpriced then others were spot on !
So best judge for yourself I guess.
Came away inspired so must be a good thing!
