Nice Spa with lots of Pools
Mar 2019
We went to this spa on a Saturday. It was quite busy, but we were still able to relax. There are lots of pools (indoor and outdoor), of which the majority are really warm and filled with salt water. This is especially nice, since that is very uncommon for pools and it's very nice on the skin. The best one is the one in which you can almost entirely float. I did miss having a bigger area with sun chairs, like I've seen in other spas) where people need to be quiet and one can truly relax for a bit. Therefore, I was happy when we found the two pools and steam room upstairs. It seems as if barely anyone knows they exists and therefore it was very quiet. There was also another relaxation room there, but it was very cold, not sure why. Another highlight were the aqua fitness courses and face masks, which are included in the price. Every hour there is a 20min aqua fitness course. This is great for anyone who wants to do a little workout and try out a few different aqua courses. On top of that, they give you facemarks and lotions for free if you want to try out. This leaves your skin especially smooth and at the end of the day it feels wonderful. There is also a sauna (which we didn't try) and massages. Be aware that if you want to book a massage, you should do this well in advance, I would say at least 4-6 weeks before, as they are booked out quickly, especially on weekends. We had lunch in the restaurant, which was good. There is a variety of foods to chose from (Anything from salad, to burger, pasta, pizza or smaller things). The portions were very big and therefore reasonable priced. Since people can be a pain and reserve sun chairs with their towels (which they are not supposed to if they are swimming), I was pleasantly surprised when the staff announced they would clean those up and did so as well. This gives everyone the chance to be able to relax on a sun chair at least once during their stay. As I mentioned earlier, it was quite busy on the weekend. I would recommend to go during the week if possible. Here another tip: the entrance is for free on your birthday, so maybe try that out during the week.

Best thermal bath ever!
Jan 2019
Ok, I’m biased - we live close to this thermal bath - but I have been to several baths in Germany an abroad and this one has been the most beautiful, modern thermal bath with a wonderful sauna and the possibility to have your beer while sitting in the warm water.

Plus moderate prices! 9,5€ for 2 hours.

Third Time!
Jan 2019 • Friends
Love this place. I’m lucky to have friends living in Bamberg and it’s an easy 20 min trip to Bad Staffelstein on the train. Third visit. We didn’t use the saunas today, just the pools on a 3hr ticket at €11 each. I love the place. Something magical about being in a steaming hot outdoor pool in mid winter with Germans around drinking ice cold beers from pitchers.. Today a friendly German chap and his wife and daughters heard our accents (Irish and Scottish), and stopped for a chat about Brexit and the world in general. Friendly folk. Friendly staff. Spotlessly clean. The three hours flew in and we only used the pools this trip.
I’ve used Thermae Bath, the Blue Lagoon in Iceland and several other hot mineral baths and this place is my favourite.
One downside. It’s always busy! People like it as much as me then..
Show your train ticket when paying entry fee. You get a small discount ;-). Oh and go look at Bad Staffelstein village! It’s beautiful and a short walk out the other side of the train station.

Amazing place to relax
Jun 2018 • Couples
You can easily spend a full day here, but there are also options just to stay a few hours. All the facilities are modern and everything looks new. It's a great place just to relax and get pampered, they have different programs each day that everybody can join, and you can even buy cocktails, ice cream and cake inside (no need for bringing cash in, your locker key functions as payment, you can then settle the bill on the way out). Prices overall are fair. Highly recommend it.

First time visited this place. Excellent impression, good mood and cheerfulness. There you can perfectly relax, enjoy nature, do aqua aerobics, eat in a restaurant, steam in several saunas.

Great thermal bath and modern sauna
Jul 2017 • Couples
We go here regularly to relax, it's not cheap but great to relax for some hours.
The thermal bath is great, but I really love the sauna. It's a big areal, very modern with a lake, swimming pools, relaxation areas, etc. they even have a pool-cocktail bar (you can stay in the water while drinking!) very often, you'll also have nice events and theme evenings.

Attention: it's a mixed sauna, but there's a special women's evening (check the website for this)

Fantastic place for sauna
Oct 2016 • Couples
The new extension of the saunas is done very well. All sorts of saunas with different temperatures are available and each has good explanations about the benefit. We went there at night and enjoyed the well lit outdoor area. Definitely coming back when possible.

Wonderful place to relax
May 2016
The Obermain Therme is a great place to relax and to get fresh energy.

They've renovated the Sauna, thus everything's new and awesome.

Clear recommendation.

Please check opening hours and prices (it's not cheap, but fair... Keep an eye on rebates and special tickets, e.g. Evening tickets).

the authentic sauna
Apr 2016 • Friends
All is verry clean and well organised, from the lockers to the polls. The place is verry big, inside and outside, and you have to take the time to explore all. But after 2-3 hours we felt a bit tired from all the water. Although there were some seniors and they did not seem to have any problem.
It's a must, for mind and body.
