Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely smallish church with beautiful Harry Patrick Clark stained glass windows. All the windows are gorgeous and well worth a visit

There are not many places where you can admire eight Harry Clarke stained glass windows in one place! This church is truly worth a visit for these alone. There are four - each with two lights -- on each side of the church's main aisle. And they are wonderful.
Harry Clarke made them in 1925.
This means that to really appreciate the windows it's best to visit before midday (when the ones on one side are lit) or in the evening (when the other ones will be lit)
There are also two newer windows by George W Walsh dating from the 1990s. One large window near the sanctuary is dedicated to Our Lady of Cong. It's beautifully made. Sadly someone felt it wasn't enough and plonked a statue and a heap of vegetation in front of it!!

Amazingly, St. Mary’s charges nothing to go into the sanctuary and ooh and aww at their beautiful stained glass windows by Harry Clarke. The entire church is beautiful. Take your time. Enjoy the quiet and beauty and be sure to donate some money by buying a candle. It is a small price to thank St. Mary’s.

Worth a visit to see the beautiful Harry Clarke stained glass window. There are a number of his works in the area including Roundfort church just 6 miles away.

I come from Ballinrobe and am therefore familiar with the beauty of the stained glass windows in the church. Ironically, it is when I am in other plainer churches that I can recall the loveliness of my home parish. In the last couple of years, a new feature of a tranquil sanctuary was introduced. This allows for a new restfulness in this sacred space.

There are two St. Mary's in Ballinrobe, one being the RC church and the other the Church of Ireland, which has been converted to a local library. Both are close together with the Church Lane car-park in between.
Its the RC church that has the largest collection of original Harry Clarke stained-glass windows in Connacht and probably Ireland.
