This museum is not faraway from Dresden in a small town named the same as famous watch. Nice house in the centre. An attractive presentation of history, how it everything started with famous watch. We spent two hours in this museum. Great time Shame it was Sunday and Glasshutte shop beside the museum was closed. We were ready to buy... More

This fantastic watch museum should be on every watch lover's list of things to do in Germany. They do a great job of sharing the development of the watch industry in Glashutte. In addition, the watches and displays are highly interesting and skillfully constructed. The audio tour helped a lot. Two hours would be enough time for most folks to... More

This museum is very attractive, not only for the incredible number of precious hand-made watches, especially the gentlemen's pocket ones made in the 19th century, but what you will surely appreciate too is the clever l way of exhibiting them and the accompanying detailed info in German and English. The exhibition is relatively new (2008) and it is very tastefully... More

Glashütte is a tiny community only minutes away from the magnificent Basteigebiet or the City of Dresden in the free state of Saxony, Germany. It is nevertheless the home of meticulous German watch crafting. A few world leaders in watchmaking are cradled hear and the town's watch museum is telling their stories. It is definitely a "do not miss!” for... More

This is one of the most incredible collections of watch and Horology history. I spent an incredible day just simply immersing myself in the German Watch History and marveling at the incredible pieces, but also the way in which Glashütte and the surrounding towns "grew up" with time. A must for all watch fans.

This fantastic museum is located in Glashutte, Germany, home of two of the finest watch manufacturers in that country, A Lange und Sohne and Glashutte Original. This museum nicely covers the history of both those watch manufacturers. It is a bit out of the way, about a 45 minute drive from Dresden. While you are there, tour both of the... More

The "Deutsches Uhrenmuseum Glashütte" "The German Clock & Watch Museum Glashütte is a must for those interested in Horology-the study of time. The Museum is a large building in the middle of the town. A large spacious building well lit with easy Access to the Displays. On entering the building there is a shop and Information desk and their book... More

If you are a watch collector this place is definitely well worth a visit. I was hoping to get a tour of one of the many watchmakers in the town but was unable to get one that fit our schedule; however, this museum more than made up for it. The exhibits provide an interesting look into the history of watchmaking... More

This is probably one of my favorite museums. It is located in Glasshutte, a very quaint town near Dresden. The museum seemed fairly new and had an extensive museum upstairs, chronically the German watch industry since the early 1850s. Very cool interactive exhibit near the end of the visit. Many watch shops near the Museum for shopping!

We went to the Glashütte Museum with some friends. I was the only one not too interested in going, but as any good museum it makes you fascinated as you understanding of the items increases. The village itself wasn't too interesting, but the museum is a must if you are an enthusiast, and if you are dragged here you'll still... More
