There a short uphill walk to get to the Castle from the car park but it's a well used track so not too rough or bumpy, just a steep few steps to get up to the Castle once you are at the top. The Castle has some fabulous original features that you often don't see within other ruins. You can... More

The castle is a short uphill stretch from the car park but worth it. Not the biggest castle but nice ruins and a good view down the Glen to be had.

A bit of a steep walk up to it but views are excellent. Well labelled and gives a very good idea of castles from the period. Parking at base is free and accessible. Only a few kms out of Kilmartin on way to Oban so worth a stop.

just outside of kilmartin, this is the most lovely castle with the best views of the surrounding area, great parking, well sign posted and just overwhelming in history.

If you want to understand more from history, this place give you chance to do it. Check own your own how big was every room, what kind of decorative they used to use where was kitchen how big was window etc kids have fun there because they can climb and hide in small spaces

Well worth a visit. Easy to get to, and not hard to up to the castle. Well signed and you could well imagine what it might have looked like all these years ago. Managed the steps up to the top, and the view was magnificent.

This was one of my favorite castles that we got to visit on our trip to Scotland. Its fairly untouched and not swarmed with loads of tourists. There is no entrance cost to the castle, just a small hike through a cow pasture and a short steep hill climb towards the end. Don't let the hike/climb dissuade you, anyone could... More

We visited the first week of June 2016. The temperature was between about 70 with no humidity the day of our visit. The air smelled like Lilac and Honeysuckle from the blooming flowers everywhere. I wasn't sure what to expect with this castle. We almost passed it up but decided to stop on a whim. I was not looking forward... More

Loved our visit to this castle as though it is on the main track for many visitors visiting Kilmartin's ancient sites, it tends to be overlooked and so quiet. The parking and entry is free and there are no facilities or staff on site but plenty of information on the boards in the car park. The walk to the castle... More
