Most Unique Experience
Jun 2021
One of the most interesting places I've ever visited in my life. Here in Gozo, the process of making artisan salt through evaporation goes back to Phoenician and Roman times. Definitely stop by the Salt Pans and give a warm hello to the Cini family who have been salt harvests since the 1800s. They are a treasure of this world.

beautiful spot to spend the evening for a picknick - you can see the sun go down in the water when it is not to cloudy

Amazing place

The Salt Pans is really worth the visit when staying at Gozo. These Salt Pans are directly near the sea and well maintained.

Sea salt the traditional way
Jun 2021
This is a small scale cottage industry. There are salt pans all along the coast but few are still actively managed. You can buy small bags of salt as a souvenir from the shop at the entrance to the rock-hewn cave where the salt is stored

The most impressive and long salt pans in Malta/Gozo
Nov 2020
I have visited other locations with salt pans and I thought these were the most amazing. Also, the orientation of them regarding the sun, makes them a nice visit for most of the day.

Some of the saltpans are still worked, so be careful not to step on them, or leave garbage behind.

Excellent photos

Definitely worth a visit for the dramatic photo opportunities of the saltpans and limestone cliffs. Difficult to get to if you don't have your own transport though.

Interesting place to spend a hour or so.
Aug 2020
Excellent place to visit for a hour or so, but nothing else to see apart from the salt pan structures and the interesting rock formations that have been eroded tp show a great over hand on the cliffs.
Its free, parking is free, and the road is very bumpy in places. I thing the whole stretch is a good couple of miles. Views of the med and Zebbug and its cave.
Good sea breeze.
A car is a must have.

Pretty but...
Jul 2020
That was really pretty but there’s nothing else. I mean don’t hesitate to go if you your own cars because that’s a nice activity but if you are travelling with the public bus, don’t go... That’s really far away from Victoria and there’s only one bus per hours...

Sea Salt pans
Oct 2019 • Friends
It is worth a visit as the view is great. Also, you can buy sea salt from shops which you can easily find in Gozo. We bought it from a souvenir shop in Ggantija temples. It is definitely a must buy.

Beautiful but ambiguous

Don’t walk on them? Or can I? The truth is that you’re not allowed!
But the sign is far away from where I parked.
So watch from a distance and enjoy
