Loved the evenings when the townsfolk come out to do the passeggiata
May 2019
Amazingly well preserved village with a crenellated town hall, early Romanesque church and a rabbit’s warren of covered passageways. Many buildings are vividly decorated with the locally red. Brown or grey variegated marble. The sedate village pours onto the streets for the evening passeggiata. Wish i could be here for the sagar del cinghiale, the wild-boar feast combining food and folklore. This area is known as Val di Cornia, an enchanting region of gently wooded hills, hot springs, lush valleys and old quarries.

Hidden gem
Jun 2019 • Couples
We were in the area and at our accomodation there were flyers about this little old town,so we decided to visit it. It really is a hidden gem! Beautiful old town, filled with wineries ,thus called the city of wine! And good wine it is! Really picturesque and worth the visit!

Village with a nice "old town"
Jul 2016 • Family
A village with the same feeling as morse well known cities / villages of the inner Tuscany, but without the mass-tourism! and easier to get to from the seaside.

A Beautiful Old Village
Jul 2016 • Friends
One could spend hours just wandering around this place, it is beautiful and deserves it's ranking of being one of the most beautiful villages in Tuscany. Apart from the fact that it is very old, the locals obviously have pride in their town. It is so neat and tidy, with flowers and lovely shops. This is a must to visit if you are in the area. We will come again!

lovely, lively medieval town
Apr 2016
We just happened to arrive just in time for some knightly sparring to the sounds of the rhythmic drumming by dressed in medieval costumes bands and the competition run with the wine barrels up the hilly ancient streets.
What fun and excitement!
We were later told that they have those celebrations often!
We also purchased some fresh saffron and local honey from the street vendors.
great place to spend half the day!

Don't miss out on Suvereto
Sep 2015
It is easy to bypass this beautiful village but well worth the detour. A choice of good restaurants but many tourists. We ate at Ristorante dal Cacini, an excellent fish menu (each course is a surprise) with 3 starters, 2 'primi'., a main course and dessert, not cheap at €50 but highly recommended.
