We had carefully read the promottional material in print and online, read the write ups on Fodor's and Frommer's and opted for the full day package with transfers and lunch included. We arrived there to find that we had to join a performance that was half way over, then were given cursery presentations about the weapons, the bush food and... More

My husband, teenager and I enjoyed our visit here. The buffet lunch was tasty but was not replenished once an item was out. The lunch had many options such as kangaroo, chicken, rice, vegetables, pasta (my favorite and make sure to drizzle chili sauce on it), salad, bread, fruit, soup (not my favorite) and dessert (carrot cake was my favorite).... This was a fantastic way to spend a morning during our visit to Cairns, the Tjapuki Aborginal Culture Park to give it its full name has been built in a fantastic rainforest setting. Our Aborginal guide took us through all aspects of Aborginal life starting with teaching us how to throw boomerangs and spears, then teaching us what they eat... More

Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park is the most memorable of the tours and activities that we experienced during our 3 week visit to Australia. It was quite educational and fun to meet and learn from the aboriginal guides as they explained their culture and history and demonstrated dances, music, foods, medicine and hunting. The exhibits, show and demonstrations were all very... More

This is a very good way to begin getting to know a little about the culture, from the folklore, to the hunting instruments that they use, the stories, the music. A very good production. The buildings and grounds are nice and maintained, the exhibits are well put together. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We were so impressed from our visit! Tjakupai is one of the very few possibilities in Australia to get an insight about authentic aboriginal culture. Our guide (Patrick) was very nice, and explained us so many different aspects of aboriginal life and environment. We took the possibility and got many questions answered. To make the experience more tangible, we could... More

We went for the evening experience. Fabulous taste of aboriginal culture , good exhibition with history which many people did not attend so was very quiet. The face painting was fun and also interesting regards the relevance of the colour and art. The food was good and plentiful . It was professional and well done whilst giving a good history... More

With hearing issues, at times it is difficult for me to pick up soft sounds. Patrick our host spoke very softly most of the time so when he spoke away from me I couldn't hear. What I did hear was interesting. During our time together we were introduce to various methods of animal harvesting, food gathering, and historical herbal treatments... More
