Long white sandy Beach
Oct 2020 • Couples
Thursday 1st October and we visited the popular holiday town of Mastihari on the northern coast of the Island.

The beach starts up by the Harbour and stretches for 5 kilometres along the coast. It is a wide beach with it's white sand washed by the crystal clear waters of the Aegean Sea.

Numerous sunbeds and umbrellas are spaced out on the beach. Some are provided, for the use of their customers, by the many bars and restaurants along the back of the beach.

Natural shade is provided by clumps of trees

There is plenty of space along the beach to spread out towels and beach mats, relax and be cooled by the gentle breeze from the sea.

Sandy and clean with sun-beds/umbrellas for hire. Very nice place and close to restaurants, shops and other facilities. A great walk as its a fair distance to the other end.

5yo really enjoyed here
Sep 2020 • Family
Nice sandy beach. There is a little bit of seaweed but its no problem. Some loungers have a safebox and wifi, but we went further up and did not pay, dont know if that was because where we went was free or we were just missed. We have found the sea is calmer in the south ( Kardamenia, Paradise Beach etc ) and rougher in the North, like here, but our 5yo enjoyed being lifted over the waves. We built a big sand castle together, as we were leaving she said she'd had the best beach day ever.

A day at the beaxh
Sep 2020 • Couples
Mastichari beach is a long beach starting from the harbour. Loads of sunbed areas and some are free if you use the bars associated. Great beach although the sea can be rough and there is a lot of seaweed along it’s length. I believe this is cleared occasionally, however once you get past it the sea bed is sandy and not too deep

Quiet beach area...if you walk up the slope
Sep 2019
Get away from the bars and tavernas in the village and head up the slope towards the basilica to a quiet sandy beach.

Ideal for sunbathing and watching the kite surfers

Windy beach
Sep 2019 • Couples
We visited yesterday and paid €6 for sun beds with parasol, free WiFi and a safe. We were near the nd of the beach ere the kite hire place is. It was not windy when we arrived and I went snorkelling. I had to swim out quite a way to see any life but was worth it who did find it, not lots of fish but some and the water is crystal clear. There is some seaweed to get through in the water but it is soft and not thick so don’t let it put you off. The wind picked up in the afternoon and the kite surfers got going. I think I would end up in Bodrum if I tried it so satisfied myself with watching. There are wind shades also included and I used it and they stopped the wind but you can still kind of see through it! The beach had a lot of Germans on it and they like to sunbath with a lot less clothes than us brits (topless not bottomless) so be aware. Short stroll along the beach to a few restaurants (we tried horizons) and the small village streets just behind, though we didn’t go there. Sandy beach that gets the wind so pick your day if you just want to sunbathe, however if you want the kite stuff, most days gets some wind. Lastly, of great delight to us,there are no motorised sea activities on this beach so the only noise was the Germans talking. Almost forgot, if you like donuts, a man came around selling them on the beach, we didn’t have any but they looked good.
