unfortunately, in this neck of the woods, nature is not greatly revered, so the tree is no longer accessible unless you clamber over a high wall, but there is another part with some fine specimens which you can visit. Especially interesting to see how the road was divided into a dual carriageway so as not to destroy this wonderful ambassador for what our world used to look like

The power of nature

A beautiful big oak tree, almost 700 years old. Right there, in the middle of the road to Tricase Porto or Marina Serra, driving from Tricase.

This ancient oak deserves a better surrounding as it now stands close to a little but very busy road with no proper hedge and I sincerely hope there are no plan to enlarge it. Luckily the locals are quite proud of it and will stand to save from any threat.
