Nice chapel at the ocean
Jul 2021
Slow balancing act to get out there but worth it. Once you are there you feel an instant calm. You can walk or swim back to the beach. ;-)

A moment of quiet

Beautiful feature. Good place to take inspiring photographs of the chapel and of the Giorgioupolis beach. The chapel itself provides a moment of quiet meditation.

Worth the drive...
Aug 2020 • Family
A 25 min drive from Almyrida where we were staying having hired a car for a couple of days. A hilly drive with stunning views before arriving at a busier than expected village with plenty of restaurants. A rocky walk takes you to the chapel so would recommend trainers rather than flip flops or bare feet which some visitors chose!

Out of the blue
Jul 2020 • Family
You don’t need to be believing to admire the beauty of this beautiful chapel. You don’t even need to visit it if you don’t feel like it cause you don’t have the proper shoes with you- it is a bit slippery to get there, plus sometimes there are waves that might make you feel uncomfortable though I have never witnessed a case where there has been an accident- you can just sit at the beach and stare it for hours. Where the blue of the sea ends that’s where is stands, as magnificent as ever. A little man made miracle that comes out of the blue.

This Chapel is near Rethymno about 30 min driving. You can find nearby beaches with gold thin sand. The chapel is 100 meter into the sea and it is one of the most beautiful chapel in Crete. You have to visit it

Worth a visit if you're in the area.

It's a short walk out to the Chapel - wear sensible shoes. We saw people in flip flops and heels - not a good idea. Nice views once you get there. If you're in the area, walk out there, otherwise not really worth going out of your way for,

So peaceful
Oct 2019 • Couples
This chapel looks so beautiful at the end of a rock walkway. We went early on a Sunday morning when there weren’t many people about. The walk is not very easy and was covered in crabs as we walked but it was worth it. The chapel is tiny but beautiful. There is a candle holder and matches and we were lucky to have some solitude. It’s probably not unique but I’ve not been anywhere like this before

Nice place to see if you are in Georgioupolis.
Not valid for handicaped people, because you need to walk over big stones.
