Love wandering the gardens. Japanese garden offered beautiful vistas at the pond. Late Spring meant Rhodos and Camellias provided most of the colour but it was a peaceful lovely walk throughout the special garden areas. Have been in the summer when the rose garden is...More

This is now part of a college, and it's a huge estate to maintain. The building from the outside is stunning, and it is great fun to imagine over the years how many famous people have visited and/or been there to film movies. However, now...More

We just quickly stopped by. The price for a tour was fairly spendy, so we just walked around the outside. It looked cool, and probably would have been much more enjoyable if we had done the tour. That being said, we spent 10-15 minutes walking...More

Royal Roads / Hatley Park is one of the nicest Canadian properties I've been to. You can imagine the life of the family that lived there in the early 1900s, especially after visiting the museum. You can also imagine the life of the cadets that...More

January may not be the best time of year to visit this place, but we were very glad that we took the time. We did not get into the building except for the small museum and gift shop. Had a very enjoyable time exploring the...More

This is a nice local castle which is part of Royal Roads University now. Good grounds with great sea views.

Steeped in history, near the sea yet tucked into the natural environment, the gardens simply take your breath away. One can see what attracts people to the this place over and over again, a stunning respite from the din of daily urban life. Walking in...More

We enjoyed the tour of the castle. The view from the castle was beautiful. The gardens are beautiful to walk through. The gardens are a peaceful way to spend a couple hours.

Hello, Are there tours or a restaurant here? What is the cost and how do I get tickets? How do we get there by public transportation from the cruise port?

There is a ferry from port Angeles I believe and there may be something right from Seattle called the clipper. Or drive north to Canada and take the ferry from Tswassen
