About
Wingham Wildlife Park is set within 26 acres in which we display over 200 different species... That’s more than any other zoo in Kent! Additionally, we are the only park in Kent where you can visit moon bears, chimpanzees and penguins! As well as the all-important animal collection we have 2 large play areas, both indoors and outdoors plus a sheltered tropical house, reptile house, chimpanzee exhibit and museum which can all be enjoyed whatever the weather. Furthermore, there are 2 restaurants (although one may be shut in the winter season), several toilets including disabled toilets and baby changing facilities, plus discover a wide variety of animal talks, feeds, encounters and experiences for a roarsome day out in Kent!

Unforgettable animal experience encounters
Sep 2021
I had the most wonderful day, taking part in both the penguin & meerkat experiences. Huge thanks to keepers, Aimee, Ryan & Meg for making me feel so special. I simply loved feeding both the penguins & meerkats last Friday. After 10 years of following your Humboldt penguins, this was a real dream come true to accompany them on their daily walk & feed afterwards. Meeting the meerkats was an equally magical experience. Anyone that doesn't mind meerkats clambering all over their lap for live mealworms should do this. They are simply adorable. Thank-you so much for an unforgettable day.

Hi janneyc2021, Thank you for taking the time to review your penguin and meerkat experiences with us. It was our pleasure to welcome you for your encounters and I'm so glad you had a wonderful time meeting them all, particularly helping with the daily penguin waddle! It's so lovely to know that our keepers Ryan, Aimee and Meg helped to make you feel so special too. I hope we can welcome you back again soon. Many thanks, Wingham Wildlife Park.

Beautiful wildlife park
Sep 2021 • Couples
Me & my partner visited this wildlife park on a busy Sunday, I can’t express how much we enjoyed ourselves, it was amazing, the whole park is clean and beautiful and you can see the animals are well looked after and what great value for money this park is. Can’t wait to visit again. A really enjoyable day and such a great selection of animals

Brilliant Day Out
Sep 2021 • Family
We haven't been to Wingham for quite a few years and took our little boy for his second birthday today.
What can I say? It was brilliant! He had such an amazing day! All the staff were friendly and helpful.
They have certainly spent money looking after the animals and their surroundings. The new Bug Garden is brilliant. The orangutan enclosure is amazing, along with the chimps and giraffes.
We saw the penguin and tiger talks / feeds and both were informative, interesting and again the staff helpful.
It is covid secure and I didn't feel worried at all.
The only thing that was a bit steep was the price of food in the cafe. £7 for a jacket potato was a bit much, but I understand trying to make money back after closing for the pandemic.
My son had a lovely birthday, and loved seeing all the animals.
Well done to all the staff who must have worked really hard over the last few years and all the new additions to the zoo are brilliant.
I love that you rescue animals and look after them.
Please keep up all the hard work, and we will be back again.

I'm so pleased that you enjoyed some of our newer areas, particularly the Bug Gardens, Giraffe, Chimpanzee and Orangutan Houses. Its always lovely to hear positive feedback from our talks and feeds, I'm so glad you enjoyed these and look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Many thanks, Wingham Wildlife Park

Sep 2021
difficult to say what we enjoyed really more of a kids play park at the moment, with animals being secondary,i know this brings in more customers but some areas look scruffy ,when we started going many years ago it seemed somehow better with staff looking happier and interacting more ,somethings have inproved (toilets etc)wont be renewing the year pass im afraid sad but its not worth the money anymore,

Hi tonyhU9407OX, Thank you for your review. I'm very sorry to hear that you don't want to renew your pass with us. While we do try to provide a lot for families we are proud to be home to more species than any other zoo in Kent and our animals are always paramount so it's a real shame to hear that you think our animals are secondary. We are always trying to improve and develop the park and visitors often comment on how our park is always changing and that they love that they can see their money being reinvested into it. However COVID has had a big impact and sadly slowed that progress. Nevertheless we were very excited to open our new Bug Gardens this summer which is home to an exciting local conservation project and have now started work on completely refurbishing the Reptile House which will be really exciting when it is completed. Plus we have further exciting projects lined up for the future as we are always looking to improve the park (particularly some of the older areas). I hope when some of this work is completed you will consider renewing your passes with us. Many thanks, Wingham Wildlife Park.

Great visit
Sep 2021
Am a fairly regular visitor with grandchildren. Arrived as the park opened this morning and had a fabulous few hours. Noticed the new clear signage which looks very smart. Was great to see the animals being let out into their runs to find their breakfast. Love the new play area too.
Only one thing that may improve a visit, would be updating the content of the gift shop. It would be lovely to have books available - could be fiction and non-fiction and animal related. Anthony Browne - lives relatively locally, has written and illustrated brilliant children's books with primates as an example.

So impressed! Would definitely recommend a visit!
Sep 2021
It was our first time visiting the park and what a great place! So impressed! The children loved it. There is so much to do and see, and the animals are amazing. Would definitely recommend it. Lots of benches to eat picnics and lots of places to sit throughout the park. It was so clean and tidy and all the animals looked so healthy & happy. The tigers are just fantastic, and the feeding times are well advertised so you can go and watch each one. Drink/ice cream kiosks throughout the park too. The staff were great and happy to answer any questions. And a nice gift shop on your way out.

Hi LONDONGIRLS2010, Thank you for taking the time review your day out with us. It's great to know that you were so impressed with your visit and enjoyed how much we have here to see and do. We are very glad to provide so many benches across the park for picnics and resting. Tigers, Troy and Blade are very popular boys so it's lovely that they were such a highlight for you too. It's always the biggest compliment to hear visitors say that they can see how well cared for our animals are, we take a lot of pride in providing our incredible animals with the best possible care so I'm glad you could see for yourself how happy and healthy they are. It's wonderful to know you would recommend us and I hope I can welcome you back again soon. Many thanks, Wingham Wildlife Park.

Don’t buy the food
Sep 2021 • Family
The zoo itself is good for children. However the food is so shocking. Expensive and not nice at all. I did try and contact them but just received a rude email in reply.

Hi Penny374, Thanks for your review. It’s such a shame to see this review go up particularly as in your emails you said that you visit us all the time and as such must usually enjoy your visits? As is the sad nature of reviews it is often easier to write a bad one than a good one and we would have loved to have heard about some of the lovely things that bring you back to our park so regularly too. Having read your communications with our reception team I cannot see where they were rude to you at all (unfortunately the same cannot be said of your messages to us). However, I can only repeat the correct information that they gave you. The reason you gave in the emails for your unhappiness was that there was not any mayonnaise in your burger despite the fact that the burger does not come with mayo and is not advertised as having it. Due to dietary requirements such as allergies we would have to list this if it was included and that would be the same at any restaurant so if it isn’t listed it isn’t going to contain it. I’m not sure what caused you to assume otherwise but as always if you are unsure our staff are there to help and would have been happy to inform you of this. Additionally, the board from which you ordered states that all sauces are 5p per sachet so I don’t know how you could have missed this. These are again offered by our staff when you pay to prevent you having to re-queue after your food has arrived. However, from the photo you have attached I can see a blue mayo sachet so I’m glad that you were able to get the sauce you wanted. By offering a burger without sauces we are able to cater to more personal choices. Many of our visitors prefer a plain bun whilst some like ketchup and others want mustard etc. So, one of the reasons we sell a burger with sauces on the side is so that our visitors are able to have their burger exactly how they will enjoy it the most. I hope in the future that as a regular visitor to our park I can look forward to reading about all the things you love about our park, particularly our incredible animals! Many thanks, Wingham Wildlife Park

One of the best zoo's in Kent
Aug 2021
Visited here in August with my wife, daughter, son-in-law & grand-daughter and all thoroughly enjoyed our day. Plenty of animals to see, all facilities were clean and knowledgeable staff. Didn't visit the restaurants as these were very busy at the time but the meals did look great. Need to visit again as they are redeveloping parts of the park.

Great day out if you take your own food
Aug 2021
Lovely day out, lots to do and see. Grandchildren loved it especially all the play areas.
BUT take your own food, it is very expensive for food, drinks and ice creams.

Hi jean c, Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to our park. It's great to know that you had a lovely day out with your grandchildren and that they particularly enjoyed our play areas. We are very glad to provide these for families to help the little ones burn off some of that excess energy. We price our cafes so that they can run independently from the rest of the park meaning that we don't have to take money away from the animals in order to fund them (particularly going into the winter months and as we continue to recover from the months of COVID-19 closures). Of course we provide numerous picnic benches and are always happy to welcome visitors with their own lunches. I hope we can welcome you back again soon. Many thanks, Wingham Wildlife Park
