Five Rathas is an archaeological site found in the small town of Mamallapuram. The Pancha Pandava Rathas actually in the tribute to the five Pandavas and Draupadi. There are 5 chariots, as well as a statue of Nandi, an elephant and a lion. The history of the place is really impressive, especially when you consider that the entire place has... More

Amazing Carvings created and named after PAndavas though it has nothing to do with visit of Pandavas here. Well maintained structure and they stand tall and strong near the shore.

The Five Rathas are included in the same ticket for the Sea Shore temple (500 rupees). These structures are incredible, especially because each of the was carved from a single large boulder! Read about each of them to get a better understanding of the carvings.

Its a beautiful place with beautiful monuments and less crowd. Situated may be aat around 3-4 km from seashore temple. The ticket you get here is also valid for seashore temple. Must visit. Good place for photography too. But avoid visiting in summer or at noon as it can get very very hot

One of the Unique spot at Mahabalipuram where there are 5 different temples with distinct architectural styles. There are 2-3 different versions of the history which the Guide will share with you. A must visit spot.

Pancha rathas (Five Chariots) are giant monolithic structures which are replicas of the wooden chariots used by the Pancha Pandavas, five Pandava princes (Arjuna, Bhima, Dharmaraja, Nakula, Sahadeva and their common wife Draupadi) of epic Mahabharatha . All the five chariots are unique in its shape, structure and their size, and these structures are well complimented by huge statues of... More

The Five Rathas are the signature art of the ancient Pallava Dynasty. They are part of a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Chariots or Rathas are exquisitely carved and depict part of the Hindu Philosophy. Some of them are incomplete too. The carvings have to be seen firsthand to understand the effort involved. A must visit monument to human history... More

This place is little small when compared to shore temple, but all the sculpture are in one place. Famous and iconic and majestic Elephant sculpture will catch your eye! You can't take a... More
