I wanted to hike up and move around on foot so I allowed 2 days for the park, intending to stay in one of the higher camps for the night. Just to say, I DID my research on the internet. However, information that is accessible to people who don't speak Chinese, is very limited. And so I found out all... More

In the last week of January 2016 nearly all the main cities in North America and Northeastern Asia were invaded by snowstorm. However, most people will still agree that our earth is getting warmer. Before September 2015, I did not really know its effect. I visited Hailougou ten years ago and re-visited the place in September 2015. When I visited... More

Visited Hailuogou on 5 Dec 2014. It was a sunny day and the view starting from the cable car all the way to the top was absolutely stunning and breath-taking. Worth the visit.

Went up on foggy weather first. You see nothing, as indicated by other reviews. Went back the day after when the weather cleared: what a sight! To get up there you buy a ticket, take a bus (about an hour) from the village, then a swiss-built cable car for ~20 minutes, which is a remarkable engineering achievement as it crosses... More

If it's a foggy day - there's no point to go there, so check out the weather forecast before going. We went on a foggy day and didn't see basically anything - no mountains, no glacier. I was very very disappointed....But I guess if the weather was better it would also be a better experience.... I think you can also... More

In the valley you can spot the east face of Minya Konka and the stunning glaciers. But it all depends on weather. In late April I visited this valley. Although it was tourist season but there were not too many people: visitors avoided here because of the recent earthquake in the neiborig Ya'an, which acctually did less damage to this... More

It is all depend on weather........if you arrived with a cloudy weather, do extend your stay. Worth to go where you can walk on the glacier without a guide or glacier tools like other countries. The sunshine is very special where you can see the mountain in red color for a few minutes........depend on weather. The hotel management is very... More
