Decent

This maze is small and easy. It’s good for kids. Really good hide and seek place. Worth a stop if you have kids.

Good fun

Just down from the castle to the right is the maze. Was great fun trying to find the glass section. Lots of corners with a step up so you can have a peek over the top to get your bearings. Great game of hide and seek can be had and a great way to start/end your trail

I did not enjoy Kielder forest and this was probable the smallest joy of my day. It’s definitely Family Friendly.

Scary but interesting

Free maze to go round. Appears a bit scary due to how it is built. Hidden away and it looks like a water tank at first but worth a look. Adults should go with their kids.

Not aimed at teenagers

I am sure that this would be better suited to younger children but my 13 and 14 year olds were tall enough to see the way out and it did not offer a challenge.

Mini maze
Apr 2019 • Family
Lovely mini maze with viewing area to amuse the children in the grounds of Kielder Castle. All made out of stone or glass gabons which looks a bit out of place in the forest environment but it is an art installation too!

Worth having a look at if your passing but not worth a special trip. Interesting construction. Doesn't take long to navigate.

Stayed in a very comfy cottage along the road, walking the dog found this maze. Its free and good fun for little'uns. It was raining on our visit but we decided to have a look in wiht our two dogs, it was empty on such a wet day but the dogs loved getting lost then trying to find us.

Easy maze
Oct 2018 • Couples
Not a challenging maze however worth having a go if visiting Kielder Castle. Made from stone walls and hard core tracks
Free entry
