No matter your age, there's something for everyone at the Simcoe County Museum. There are interesting exhibits, friendly staff and little keep sakes to purchase if you're so inclined. It's genuinely well worth a visit.

This indoor and outdoor museum packs a lot of information of the natives and the Simcoe area. Very educational. Be prepared for lots of walking inside and out.

I really enjoyed the museum. Did not care for the outside part at all. The museum itself has A lot of great history. Enjoyed the Victorian era a lot. Was great for hour and s half visit.

Nicely laid out local museum. Good education on how the area was settled. The outdoor buildings (i.e. an old church etc) were a good addition, but the school house was locked when we were there. Bit puzzling as to why it is not right 'in' Barrie, though.

We spent a good couple of hours here. The staff are very helpful and welcoming towards tourists. There are lots of indoor and outdoor viewing subjects. They held a junior quiz show in the side classroom with free prizes fir the participants. Our son really enjoyed this. They also did an 'experiment' outside which was interesting. This is a fantastic... More

I visited the museum a couple of years ago during a quilt/craft show and was blown away by the talent that was there. My most favourite was seeing a loom in action! I was enthralled with it and could not tear myself away for quite a long time. The other feature was the hand made lace, OMG all those threads... More

What a great museum and it is located in a terrific scenic rural location with lots of convenient parking. It is a newer museum that has some very interesting and unique displays. One of the very fascinating and well done features was a section in the museum featuring the store fronts and interiors of several of the businesses that would... More

The displays are well curated and the explanations are in plain language making this little gem a delight to visit. It's always nice to know about the history of the region around you and we enjoyed our visit. I even got my tween granddaughter interested in some of it!

A great place for families and anyone wanting to learn about the history of Simcoe County. This museum is a multi-purpose in that it is a venue for events in addition to having current expositions, children's Summer day camps and the museum itself where there interactive displays and spaces to explore outside.

Behind the museum lies fields of old equipment and etc... They provide a great walking experience and photos for everyone! Very nice nature walk, especially since it is so close to Springwater Park!
