Not much to see on the inside, but viewing the outside reveals a grand medieval fortress. We kept exploring the interior, hoping to find something remarkable, but we couldn't. Just cruise by or walk around.

We walked from our ship up the waterway leading directly to this structure. Structure is still in good shape with good views. There isn't much to look at inside but it was only $1 to get in. Nice craft venders selling homemade art works

Saved by the group playing a surprise performance once through and out in the inner open. Four string playing ladies giving us examples from different epochs in bright sunshine. The little chapel was a gem.

Very easy to see as we approached on the Danube River. A short drive by way included as part of our bus tour of Viden. It dates back to the 10th century and survived as a defensive stronghold thru out the Middle Ages. It is...More

Baba Vida is definitely worth the visit and is a hidden little gem in Vidin. The fortress has some fantastic history and a nice photo display of Vidin in times gone by. It's worth climbing to the top as the view across the river is...More

You can easily reach the fortress. From the cruise ship - it is located not more than 100 m. right along the Danube promenade.
