This temple has very much historical prominence. But some over enthusiastic donors made this temple like a bar and restaurant by laying the inner and outer walls of this ancient temple with tiles and granite stones. The concept of antique heritage is totally taken away ! Iam feeling very sad about this temple

The traditional belief is that the Ganapathi in this temple keeps regular account of all the pilgrims to tender ‘Sakshyam’ (evidence) of their visit to this Kshetram and is named as Sakshi Ganapathi. The sculpture of this deity is exquisitely made holding a book... More

The shrine earlier used to be a small unobtrusive edifice, which one had to look for, now there is a mammoth shed in blue colour overhanging its front portion with a series of queue lines flanked by steel poles.... There's a belief that one should visit Sakshi Ganpati temple to give attendance that they visited Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy. This comes on the way when you return from Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy temple.
