Nice Shiva temple ..Worth visiting
Dec 2019
It is a nice temple and well maintained and is located about 12 kms from Vellore fort. The temple history is captured on a wall inside the temple . The place was not too crowded and we a had a good darshan. The lingam is slightly tilted and the reason is also mentioned.

shiva temple where bhrama got pabavimochanam
Oct 2019
The temple is dedicated to lord shiva worshipped as margabandeswarar and goddess Parvathi as maragathambigai.there 8so abhairavar is in front of thr goddess sannathi.temple is the place where lord bhrama born as a child and got ubhadesam from Lord shiva himself and performed poojai. While the child bhrama was about to do the abhisheakam since he is a small boy and the lingam in the sanctum is high in height the boy accepted that he can't see the mudi of shiva here, (remember the lingodbavar story where bhrama lied as he had already seen the mudi),god blessed him vimoshanam from the pabham of that lie.
Since these happened on the last Sunday of karthigai month,it's considered aspicious to take a bath, first in the nearby river pallar, then a tank on the western side of the temple and then in the simba teeth am near the temple entrance inside the the temple, and go on to have the Darsham of Lord margabandeswarar.
There is a separate sanctum for bairavar with the goddess also inside.

An Outstanding Shiva Temple
Jan 2019 • Couples
This Temple should be a must see in Vellore, especially if you are a serious temple goer. I didn't see many tourists, but I definitely met many devotees. It's a huge temple with a superb architecture having numerous pillars with sculptures. Spirituality emanates from every inch of the Temple.

Beautiful Temple, Ancient and Magnificient
Dec 2018 • Family
This temple is close to the Highway in the region of Vellore Ambur and is easily reachable. You have to travel a short distance from highway and as you reach the temple it is not immediately visible. Shows up once you reach very close, The gopuram will open your jaw wide. What a temple..Once you enter the temple you will see the size of the outer perimeter. Fit for a full chariot to go around. Huge is all I can say. This is an ancient temple, thousands of years old. As you walk around, you will come across the mandapams with exquisite pillars. on the right hand side of the temple you will see an unique two tiered mandapam. The first for me. There is also a small place where there is a painted stone and it apparently shows the accurate time, serves as a sundial. I went when it was a bit cloudy. The temple well is fenced colorfully. Yali figure is menacing as it should be. Go for it, seek Shiva's blessings. The temple opens post 4:30 pm in the evening. please note.

Go for it and get blessings of Lord Margabandeeswarar and Goddess Maragadambigai
Dec 2018 • Family
One of the ancient & large temples in Southern India. Has various stories around it and is located very near to Vellore City and Ambur town.
This temple is very next to the Palar river, ofcourse it is dry now with very little water.
People come here for their wishes to come true.
Mainly this temple is famous for couple/women who are awaiting for Marriage & Children. They should stay over a night at the temple premises, take a dip at three 'Theerthaas' namely Surya, Brahma & Simha, after which women is allowed to take blessings from the Lord & goddess in the month of 'Karthika maasa'.
The temple is vast and amidst village. Must visit for all temple lovers, hope your wish come true.

Beautiful Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva
Sep 2018 • Couples
This temple is adjacent to National Highway connecting Ambur & Vellaore in Tamilnadu, South India. It is a really beautiful temple with deities of Margabandeeswara and Maragadambigai. Palm tree is the temple's vrukksha or holy tree. The tree bears black and white fruits every alternate year. Worth a visit for religiously minded.
