Nice swedish cuisine, though the choice of dishhes to choose from is rahter limitied, but the chef is worth a mention, furthermore there is a cristsallery as well as a school for art students whishing to specialise in glass crafting.

We set off not knowing what to expect on this self drive trip around the crystal factories near Kalmar. First stop was the Orrefors shop. Lovely friendly staff, very helpful & a wonderful range of crystal & hand blown glass on display- great prices too. There are numerous smaller artisans on this circuit. Kosta Boda was next for us. Our visit in Southern Sweden included stops at two of the old glass factories, where you can actually see the glass being hand made - fascinating to see how it takes form from a melted mass to a beautiful glass figure. Our stop in Kosta included a visit to the glass museum at the Glass Factory. A very nice exhibition... More

Very nice cultural area with plenty of glassblowers, nice nature for hikers, fishers and paddling.

During our Scandinavian trip (Denmark, Sweden, Norway) we spent two days in Kalmar, Sweden. One day we toured the small town and the Castle and the next day we rented a car to drive through the glassmaking town. You can hit many of them during a one-day trip.
