My visit

Lovely woods to investigate, amazing area to walk your dogs, nice and relaxing. Putting area, and also has pony/ and horse rides on set tracks. Restaurant if you get peckish.

I love this place, it's so beautiful! So why are dog owners spoiling it by leaving their dog's mess everywhere. Instead of looking around at the beautiful views, our eyes are on the ground, watching where we walk. My grandaughter trod in some nasty mess, unbeknown to me, and I picked her up, and the mess was transferred on to... More

We live close to the woods and always love to go in, just for a walk or treat with coffee and cake at the Cafe. There are walks, talks and activities for children organised through out the year and is usually a busy place. Two park for kids around also bring lots of families. We love our woods and always... We live locally and visit regularly. The woods are a lovely space with a bridle path used by the nearby stables and a good range of footpaths, the main routes are accessible with pushchairs and there are plenty of little paths for the more adventurous! Main routes are signposted and the wood paths do link up onto other local paths... More

We are regular visitors with our young son. There is plenty of parking. The paths are well maintained which means you can use a pushchair although you will struggle in winter if you go off the main routes. There is a nice visitor centre with a reasonably priced cafe to grab a coffee or some lunch with activities to keep... More

I've run through here a couple of times recently. There are some nice trails through the woods, but it is easy to get lost and come out on to a golf course, which always worries me a little. Other areas are a bit too crowded, so it's not all that peaceful and quiet.

This is an ideal local area to explore and depending on your fitness, you can make the walk as long or as short as you wish. The trees and shrubs are varied and if you like sketching, there are plenty of opportunities here for you. Despite the chilly wind, there were plenty of people of all ages enjoying this woodland... We visited today and followed the Sculpture Trail, which took around 45 minutes. We had a nice amble through the woods and used the free downloadable app to navigate the sculptures. Beforehand we went to the cafe in the Visitor Centre and had a cream tea, which was reasonably priced and enjoyable. There's free parking and a large play area... More
