This was the first time I get on a steam train and it was so brilliant. The view of the path up to the Kulm is very beautiful. It was such eager when the train went through the wood turnel which alike a hanging cliff. When the train get into the rock turnel, all of the turnel was foggy because... More

I was staying in Brienz and bought my ticket with my Half-fare card and the Brienz visitor's card, which gave me an additional 10 percent off. The train ride is an hour each way, the scenery was amazing, the ride was relaxing. At the top it is a twenty-five minute hike up to the summit. With spotty clouds covering the... More

Journey with a steam train is already nostalgic but this train not only offering nostalgia but also magical views to the Alps and the surrounding forest and village. Its not cheap cause no one also said that Swiss is cheap. But , the view and experience is worth. Best to do in clear days where you can see the amazing... More

Take the very attractive old Steam Engine train to bring you to the top. You will enjoy Super great views all the way up/and on top. You will find some good restaurants and a nice hiking trail. Don't miss this excursion - Its a must and highly recommend.

The trip up can be roughly split into 3 parts, you first pass by a "foresty" area, a mid area of lake and mountains, and the top where snow capped mountains awaits. Sit near where you enter the seats if you can. The view are nicer and allow more photo opps. Note the "steam engine" is at the end on... More

The price of the train is quite steep, but worth every penny. The one hour ride up the mountain is relaxing and memorable with outstanding views. Once at the top of the mountain there are restaurants, look out points and hiking trails. A truly incredible day with breathtaking views.

The view throw the forest first and throw the clowds after were suberb. But it was like a dream at the top of the mountain that we were over the clouds! We can see a lake from clouds and its beach were the tops of the mountains! It was a unique spectacle!

Wow, what a great experience, travelling steep uphill with the steam train through this magical landscape. We enjoyed one of these weather-changing autumn days. Upwards through heavy fog without any views but not less exiting, descent with the perfect view over lake Brienz and it's surrounding mountains (some already covered with fresh snow) and throughout the beautiful forest with all... Having visited Brienz on numerous occasions, we at last had an opportunity to make the trip on the Brienzer Rothornbahn this year. It was a most memorable experience, travelling on this unique little train powered by a modern steam engine at the rear. As we started the journey, climbing slowly above the dwellings of Brienz, the views around were so... More

We visited this site on a perfect sunny day, and the views were outstanding. It was quite packed, and a worker there told us it's best to come early in the morning or late in the afternoon to beat the crowds. Grab a seat on the left side going up, and try to sit as far from the engine as... More
