We tried to access the parco Scherrer from the upper road, after visiting the Church Santa Maria del Sasso. All the upper entries were closed and we had to wind down a long stairway to enter from the bottom level. The park is not very well maintained. All the inside buildings are closed, you can only look inside from the... More

Come and visit Parco Scherrer, and enjoy flowers, plants and especially the view of the lake and mountains.

This was my second visit in recent years and it's worth seeing to appreciate the vision its creator had. Though some of the features, especially the water ones, are now showing their age, nothing can detract from its splendour and fine position on the edge of the lake. Allow about 45 minutes to an hour to do it justice and... More

We have visited this beautiful Park on June 2010 while a week holiday in Lugano. This wonderful attraction is on the shore of lake Lugano in Morcote , a municipality in the Swiss canton of Ticino , situated about 10 KM from Lugano and at altitude of 280 Mt. Arthur Scherrer bought the old house and the land above it... More

Morcote is full of surprises and this park was one of them. Exploring around we bumped into it and hadnt known of it earlier. We entered in and were really amazed by the nice landscaped garden with its pavillions. Do walk around and also see the church you need to climb a bit to. You get amazing views of lake... More

You can get here by boat from Lugano. This is a lovely little park garden with a number of themes. Beautifully laid out with great views over the lake. Well worth a visit while you are in Lugano.

Had heard in the past about this park, said to myself will visit it one day and finally we did it, after years... Is a steep landscaped garden with pavilions dedicated to different cultures (ancient Greek, Thai, Hindu, Arab etc.) conceptually beautiful; first levels are well-cared but the higher levels noticed run down areas which can be seen the trees/plants/flowers/buildings... If you have a few hours to spend in Lugano i would definitely recommend taking one of the many boat trips to Morcote (approx 45 mins) and wandering the lovely cobbled streets. There are lots of lovely water-front restaurants, bars and shops. If you're feeling a little more energetic, i would definitely recommend walking up the few hundred steps (don't... More

Absolutely worth a visit. Even though, I live in the area, I visited the park for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Walking through the beautifully kept park with its many romantic statues and ponds is a joy. There are many possibilities to rest and admire the beauty of the park and the view over Lake Lugano.
