If you like Barbera, you'll love Alfiero Boffa wines!
Nov 2014 • Couples
Barbera wines used to be considered of sufficient quality for the table, but not for ageing. Alfiero Boffa is one of the pioneers of proving this is a grave mistake. Alfiero's Barbera wines consist of both Crus and Cuvee's, that age gracefully for 10-20 years. This is a small winery, run by Alfiero and his wife Connie-Kay, who are the most welcoming and gracious hosts every time we go there. We always enjoy a well-informed degustazione (wine tasting) and never cease to enjoy the rich, smooth and beautifully-balanced wines that Alfiero has to offer, at very reasonable prices for the quality. I would recommend stopping by to taste a few if you are in the area. You won't regret it and I can almost guarantee you'll come away with a box or two and, a month later, you'll wish you bought more!

Fantastic boutique winery with fabulous wines!
Dec 2014 • Friends
Alfiero Boffa is one of the smaller vineyards in the region with about 52 ha. He grows mainly Barbera but also some other wines. his wines are fantastic and at a very reasonable price! in particular the Testimonium and Muntrivè are out standing! we arranged for a tour of his winery where Alfiero led the tour through his production explaining the various processes that lead to th great wines he has. Afterwards we were treated to a great tasting with explanations about all his wines. we spend about 6 hours (rather long time!) but it was worth every minute...
best though is come with a driver - because after all the good wine you will want to sleep...
