If you have to spend just one night in the Aso area, try to spend it in this hot spring town. When the hot springs were discovered 200 years ago, other establishments were made and created this cozy town, set right in the middle of the mountain valleys and divided by a small river. This area is surrounded by mountains. With the hot steam coming from the onsen you can cook vegetables! We cooked sweet potatoes there and it was a really memorable experience. The area has a quiet, small town feel. A nice place to visit to get away from the city.
