Kushimoto Marine Park Aquarium, where I went with my family, is a surprising aquarium for me. This aquarium is a medium size, and there is a restaurant beside the aquarium. When we walk tired, we can rest there. However, there are various kinds of park animals in the aquarium. The most impressive animal for me is turtles. Some of the... More

On the route 42 highway, but strangely quiet with a few visitors. Many many species in the aquarium and presented in a most thoughtful way. They are very big on the turtles as there are many examples and many you can feed from the observation deck. The main aquarium had a feeding schedule where you can see the fish being... More

When I lived in Kushimoto, I resisted going to this aquarium for a while. People told me it was dirty, run down, and not very interesting. When I did finally go, though, I was pleasantly surprised. The aquarium's water is dirty... But that's because it's one of the few aquariums that actually pumps in local sea water to make their... More

I like Aquarium!! This one is not famous at all. No crowd at all. Located along the seaside, need some walk from JR station along the beautiful sea side. Rent a car could be more convient if you could. There were underwater obervation tower, ship to see sea urchin. Aquarium have many spieces and interaction places. Had great time there.

From the JR station, we took the free shuttle bus to the aquarium. Many kinds of fishes and invertebrates including corals living in and around Kushimoto Undersea Park are kept in the aquarium. In the 24 meter long under-water tunnel,I could see the awesome sight of 20 kinds of sharks and rays swimming above and around me. Then we went... More

. . . in Japan. That is why every one of them is worth visiting, no matter how unknown or rundown they might look. I visited this aquarium back in 2000 or so, and back then you could touch the heads of the sea turtles, because the barrier around the pool was rather low. You can't do this anymore as... More

When my husband, parents and I arrived at the entrance we were very close to not going in, given how shabby it looked for the price. We took the plunge, though, and were very happy that we did. There were enough signs in English for us to be informed about the exhibits. Worth a look if you are in the... More
