Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped here for lunch on our way to Muroran. Great place to buy seafood snacks. A few stalls selling fresh seafood. We had the crab sushi, crab tempura, Unagi rice bowl and crab rice bowl. Generous portion of seafood in every order. Reasonably priced and an enjoyable lunch.

A tour-group must visit attraction for high value authentic Hokkaido seafood. Humble resaurant by Pacific Ocean. Signature Hokkaido king crab, giant conch, abalone and clams are great for both sashimi and hotpot! Grilled eel with sweet soy sauce is also delicious. Tummy very gratifying after 6 hours snowy car ride around Lake Toya. Must come!

Was on a tour package from Singapore and dropped by this place for lunch. Prior to entering the restaurant, you will walk through a series of seafood shops which is very interesting. There were some small shops selling Japanese cooked snacks as well. The most interesting thing about this place is the two large bear and salmon structure on the roof and overlooking the pacific.

As we were with a tour group this is where they had us stop for lunch. The restaurant appears to be oriented toward servicing the tour bus market so it appears to hold hundreds at a time.

The grill your own format that we had was fun and enjoyable, but it's far from the food experience you typically anticipate when dining in Japan. The tables are crowded in and can be noisy when all the buses let off their groups.

There is an interesting market/shop on the first floor and a number of people in our group found items to buy.

This place offers fresh seafood from the market (right beside the restaurant). We have two types of crab and scallop. The sashimi is very fresh too. It was a very filling lunch and also costly (especially the crab). But it was worth it.

After the delights of the sulphur pit we were taken to the first lunch in Japan. Here at Kani Goten fish market in Shiraoi, you can get the set meal and also opt for visiting the fish market next door and supplementing your lunch with various catches of the day. Freshly prepared food melted in the mouth. I wouldn’t otherwise dream of putting raw fish stuff in my mouth on day 1 of a holiday, but this tasted great, even if the place was a regular drop off for coach parties. Time it right and there is no queuing.
