Visited the park on 2 May 2017. The cherry blossom trees were so demure yet majestic. The beauty of mother nature is on display. Many varieties of sakura and they are all in full regalia. If you're planning to go there during the cherry blossom season from hakodate, it is advised to rent a car (2 hour drive). The drive was worth it to see all the beautiful cherry blossoms walk around the park to see the trees, the best ones are further inside.

There are many varieties of cherry blossom trees in the Park. We were initially worried that all the cherry trees have disappeared due to the intense rain & wind.
