During our May visit, the monkeys greeted us well before we even entered the official area of the park. The drive up is scenic and exciting, thankfully not as exciting as it would have been if we'd encountered a downhill vehicle on our uphill trek...More

Quite a long hike to see them through a snow covered forest but well worth it. Mid afternoon and quite a few monkeys around. We went late March and the snow was just starting to melt. Quite a lot of people there looking at the...More

Since we went in the summer there was only one lone monkey at the park, which was disappointing, but it was a lovely hike up and back. Nice to get out in nature after having been in the big cities for the first part of...More

Unforgettable! Monkeys came so close to us we felt like David Attenborough! They had babies on their backs or hanging round their necks.

We took a day trip from Tokyo to see the snow monkeys and were not disappointed! The day is long - we took the bullet train using JR passes (which are almost of equivalent value to the return trip on bullet train!), and then bought...More

Staff watched to keep everyone safe, as the monkeys play in their habitat. It was just nice to relax and watch them play. It really was a lot of fun for anyone of any age. The only thing ill note is it is a hike...More

There is one steep part of the track - but this is concreted - so unless you slip in monkey poop you will be fine. Have fun in the rain or sun!
