I recommend Gorges du Tarn for everyone who enjoys the outdoors. Hiking, canoeing, fishing in absolutely divine nature. Perfect in April - May, very few tourists around and nature is pristine. We stayed near the lovely village of Le Rozier, right on the river bank, where we found everything we needed.

We drove North through the whole Gorge at sunset. Amazing colours and scenery. Parts are lit at night. This is the 3rd time we have driven the Gorge. We will never get bored of it!

If you are in this area of France, you owe it to yourself to drive the Gorges du Tarn. Stop in one of the TIs on whichever end of the gorges you are starting to get a map with details about the drive. I suggest you make frequent stops to take pics and look down to the river, but the... More

Breathtaking ride through Tarn river. Rented a kayak and a canoe at La Malene and the owner of the rented canoes picks you up at the end of the ride. we did the shortest ride and regreted it. Smooth clear, river, not so well known as the Verdon Canyon and its one of the most beautiful places I will always... More

Breathtaking views in this amazing area. We went at the end of September and the roads were quiet, being narrow must be nightmare in peak season. If you're planning on going maybe worth going out of main season, fewer restaurants open but so much quieter every where from the car and people point of view. Amazing.

The views, the river, the scenery, the climate of the area, kayaking, swimming, lovely restaurants, great bars, beautiful villages (some of them the Plus Beau villages en France meaning some of the prettiest villages in France) are to be found in this region. If you wish to go kayaking, there are many different spots along the river to commence the... More

Take a look at Norman Foster's Millau bridge and drop down into the Gorges. The views of villages 1000 ft below arsimply spectacular. As a previous contibutor quite rightly states the access is not for the faint-hearted and how they manage in the snow with no barriers I cannot imagine. Pick the time of the year as it does get... We drove the Gorges du Tarn from Millau northwards and can not stress too much how beautiful this region is. At this time of year there are fewer tourists so there was plenty of opportunity to stop and take in the stunning landscapes, in the summet months it can get very busy so stopping other than in the villages enroute... Breathtaking sums up this area. 2015 and 2016 holiday. Went kayaking this time at St.Enimie. Fantastic fun and only cost 60euro for 3 of us on a 13km stretch.hard work but worth it. St.Enimie itself so idilic. This place Will be etched in my mind for ever.

A family day whilst on holiday. Everyone enjoyed it. Not sure we were on the most scenic area of the river but still great. Hard work at times but great fun riding the rapids
