Perhaps the only Lighthouse that still sounds its Fog Horn. Every Sunday at noon the Horn sounds. If you are a light house buff or just enjoy a different experience you should visit on Sundays.

Sit on the seats at the base of the lighthouse and take in the views as long as you score a day that it’s not blowing a gale. The lighthouse keepers residence can be rented for a holiday.

If you are in Launceston for a few days you could do far worse than to spend a day heading out to the various minor sights in the George Town/Low Head area. George Town has a few points of interest such as a maritime museum...More

The old lighthouse stands as a beacon to guide safe entry for the shipping and it is easy to see why it was needed, The explanatory signage was excellent

A lovely drive takes you to the lighthouse where the views are spectacular. The little town is sweet and worth a look. The car park at the lighthouse isn’t suitable for RVs and large caravans......I suggest you park down the road and walk to the...More

We drove in here as we were exploring Launceston and it is a pretty far drive to see a lighthouse. Viewing rooms were closed when we got there, so we pretty much only had the lighthouse, and the views it offered in the surroundings. History...More

Lighthouse with foghorn. Nice views with penguins nearby. Interesting history of the area and a listing of wrecks on the reef.

My husband and I love lighthouses so this was a must do. When we saw it from far, we couldn't believe our luck, it's a beautiful lighthouse in excellent condition and the weather was stunning too! An absolute must do, it's free. Loved it!

already answered below.... it's well worth the trip out as you get up close and there are not as many tourists as Phillip Island
