Every Sunday at noon the fog horn sounds at the light house, amazing, only one in the Southern Hemisphere.

Certainly worth paying a visit whilst in Low Head. Nice lighthouse with a lot of historic value, well maintained. Interesting on Sunday when the foghorn is on at noon - really impressive!

We had read about the Lighthouse in numerous tourist brochures and online, and given it's only an easy 45 minute highway drive from Launceston, it's well worth the visit. The property is very well maintained, everything looked freshly painted, and even on such a windy...More

This is a place to visit just for the views in every direction. Yes no shops, nice spot just to wander at our history and it's free! There is a little goat track you can go down but need good hiking shoes on.

You are free to simply walk around the lighthouse and get a great view of the northern coastline. No entry fee, no shops, no cafe. Just enjoy the quiet surrounds.

Great views up and down the coast, and great to see a piece of history kept in working order even better if you're around oat Midday on a Saturday when they fire up the fog horn.

You can make a short circular walk around the lighthouse. If Lighthouses are your thing (like me) then this is one to go too. Historic location. Refurbished fog horn. Back down the road is a musuem, cafe and WC (Low Head Pilot Station).

We spent much longer than planed at this peaceful location. We highly recommend to walk down to the the seashore of the Light House area. We took many pictures of the birds resting there at the rock.

It's windy up here but well worth the trip. Views are beautiful. I love lighthouses so we always find them if we can!! Dress warm, take a selfie stick!
