Royal Liverpool Golf Club is delighted to welcome visitors to play our challenging, historic links. Please see our online Tee Booking system for details, discounts apply on Mondays.Royal Liverpool Golf Club at Hoylake has staged major tournaments throughout its long history including 11 Open Championships. The Open made a successful return to Hoylake in 2006 when Tiger Woods achieved his third victory. The Women's British Open will be played at Hoylake for the first time in 2012, then the Open returns in 2014. The Club was formed in 1869, making it the second oldest links in England. Hoylake has a long and distinguished history of golfing firsts: It was host to the inaugural men’s amateur championship in 1885; the first ever international match between Scotland & England in 1902; the first Home International matches & the first transatlantic contest between GB&I & the USA in 1921, an event which became the Walker Cup the following year. In fact, it is Hoylake's contribution to the amateur game that has set it apart from other clubs. The historic memorabilia in the clubhouse is well reknowned. Golfers are welcome to follow in legends' footsteps to play our links.

Yesterday (13th November) we played Hoylake. We were warmly welcomed by a lady at reception. We were then introduced to the professional and the starter. We went to the practice range and took full advantage of the free range balls. The starter then met us...More

Played royal Liverpool on the calmest, sunniest day we had in October and we were still beaten by the wind off the sea. Course was in fantastic condition as you’d expect but we were not ready for how brutal the rough was going to be....More

We played four golf courses in The Wirral over five days starting on 18th September. The main attraction is to play an Open course, so Royal Liverpool in Hoylake was a disappointment. The greens had been hollow tined before we played on the Wednesday and...More

Underwhelmed, disappointed, surprised at the ordinary-ness of it all: just a few ways to describe Hoylake. After my first visit to play RLGC I was left in no doubt that its inclusion in The Open rota is far more to do with the sheer amount...More

If you happened to have read my review of Royal St. George's Golf Club, you'd know that our England golf experience had gotten off to a less than ideal start. That, however, all changed upon our arrival at Royal Liverpool. We were very pleasantly welcomed...More

A great links course that has stood the test of time; a mighty challenge when the wind blows, as it often does on this corner of the Wirral peninsula. The Golf Club was founded in 1869 and the Club houses the finest selection of golfing...More
