About Spirit of Scotland
I provide tours in any part of Scotland, although I specialise in the Highlands. Tours can be anything from 2 hour 'Quick & Local' in the Invergordon area (particularly good for stay in port cruisers), to day tours (also good for cruisers in most of the Highland ports), or small group extended tours. The latter are from 1 to 8 persons, and last as long as you like! Scotland is amazing, the Highlands are 'amazinger'. And, of course, my tag line is High Roads, Low Roads, Back Roads!

I had the pleasure of meeting Chas MacDonald after being referred to him and his company Spirit of Scotland several years before my Highland tour. During that time Chas stayed in touch with me and he had the opportunity to get know me and what I wanted my tour to include. Chas met my aunt and I at our Airbnb in Helensburgh( well out of his way ) in his kilt, ready to take us to the northern Highlands. On our way north, we mentioned Outlander and he made an unplanned stop at Doune Castle much to our surprise! We then travelled north to a lovely tea house that was off the beaten track and it was wonderful. We then headed to Crathes Castle for an exciting climb up and down the tower. Chas found us a great BnB in Stonehaven that evening and the next day we saw Dunnotar Castle. It was breath taking. After Dunnotar we headed for St. Andrews for some shopping, lunch, and laughs. I recommend Chas as your tour guide to the Highlands. He's knowledgeable, friendly, and has a great sense of humor.

I actually went to Scotland in August/September 2015 with a dear friend of mine. Chas met us at the airport dressed in a kilt. (Can’t get anymore Scottish than that.). He was our guide, chef, protector and constant companion for the entire trip. Our focus was in seeing the standing stones and Chas made sure we saw all we could find. Chas was so knowledgeable of the country and its history, he transported us in time and we felt as if we were experiencing the historic events ourselves. Some experiences moved us to emotional tears and then others found us doubled over with laughter. You simply can not go wrong booking a tour with Spirit of Scotland and Chas MacDonald. The bonus is that you will make a true friend for life.

I actually went in 2016 with my sisters but couldn’t select that option. But let me say you cannot go wrong using Chas as your guide in Scotland. We went to touristy places and out of the way places. Visited the area where my mother and grandparents lived. All the places we stayed and ate where wonderful. Chas knows the locals, is knowledgeable, and his heart is Scotland. Will definitely use him when I go back in a couple years.
