A little haven that you could easily miss
Dec 2017 • Couples
Beautiful ornamental woodland covering a couple of acres opposite Saltburn Pier. An excellent dog walk for early morning or late evening. Take a torch.

I was there at Hogmanay and it was very icy, so be warned. Car park at the front next to the ornamental garden which has views down the Firth towards Nigg and the Sutors. If I lived in the area I would be a more regular visitor.

Saltburn woodland walk

Walk the dog here. Bob and Sandy work really hard to keep the walk looking nice. Just wish some people would pick up their dogs mess.

Walk with the dogs
Aug 2018 • Couples
Wonderful walk with the dogs. Whole walk is interesting. Lots of different plants. Some fairy doors for you to find. Safe away from traffic. Different coloured walks as to your abilities. Great for kids too.

Very peaceful woodland walk for all to enjoy.

Regarding Alistair W's comment. What do you expect a woodland to look like. It serves everyone, from walking alone to walking with companions or pets, it's a lovely peaceful area. What Bob and Sandy have done to create this woodland is fantastic. It was lovely speaking to both men about how this dilapidated area has become this amazing amenity for the area.

Weeds nothing but weeds
Sep 2017 • Solo
Walk around here for the sake of the dog but nothing else, considering 2 men 6 mornings a week blethering about what they have done.
When you look at the Forestry Commission Woodland walks, they are created and NO one goes near them, and low and behold NO weeds - amazing

Great place for a short walk

Great local effort to bring this area back into use, and a very pleasant walk in the woods within a few minutes of where the ship docked

Very pleasant countryside around Ivergordon
Aug 2017 • Solo
I took my bicycle for a ride around Ivergordon all the way to Tain. There are backroads, almost single lane with passing areas that are very charming. Very little traffic and a pretty scenery with many wildflowers. It is possible to avoid larger roads for the most part with a little care.

the original photos are not a true likeness of the photos taken today, apart from the entrance which is reasonable the rest leaves a lot to be desired

A tribute to the 2 men who laid out and maintain this beautiful woodland garden
Jun 2017 • Couples
These 2 men have transformed an unused piece of land into a local amenity. There are 3 trails around the woodland - a quarter, half or three quarter mile walk - and each of them has a flat surface that are suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. There is plenty of seating and picnic tables and viewpoints. At the front of the area is a beautiful garden that you can walk around and admire.
