A place to come back to

Now owned by the National Trust, Baddesley Clinton was the home of the Ferrers family for 500 years.

Much of the house you see today was built by Henry Ferrers, a lawyer, diarist and antiquarian, in the late 1500s.

The house was a sanctuary not only for the Ferrers family, but also for persecuted Catholics who were hidden from priest hunters in its secret hiding places during the 1590s.

- Start your visit with an introductory talk at the front of the house (last entrance to the house is 4.30pm) to find out more about the fascinating and unexpected stories Baddesley Clinton has to offer.

- Finish by enjoying the delightful menu in the Barn Restaurant or find something to remember your day with, in our gift shop.

Come back soon...We're open all year, except 24 and 25 December, so pop back to see the changing seasons in the gardens, or for one of our events. The shop, gardens and restaurant are open 9-5pm and the house opens at 11am.

We visited Baddesley specifically to see the Daffodils in display, and we weren't disappointed! On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly lady who explained all the attractions and walks. First stop was the tea rooms where we had a coffee, these were very clean and modern, a recent refurbishment I think. Then our first walk was to St... More

My Wife and I are members of the Trust and are frequent visitors to Baddesley Clinton especially on a Sunday morning when we have our breakfast in The Barn restaurant. However, on Sunday 26th February, we experienced very poor service for the second time and for the same reason. The server at the counter yet again forgot to order our... More

Pair this with Packwood and you'll fill a pleasant day. Baddesley looks picturesque with its iconic moat and manor. The search for priest holes and the story of the place have kept the family engaged over a number of visits.

Today my wife and I drove the thirty or so miles to Baddesley Clinton which is owned by the National Trust. We both have NT season tickets and enjoy this property at this time of year as there are plenty of daffodils just coming into bloom. When we arrived we had a problem finding car parking space and id have... More

Secluded 15th century moated house with lovely gardens and lakeside walk which is ideal for a secluded, gentle stroll. The house has an amazing history and it is worth chatting to the room guides as they are full of information. Doesn't seem to have the number of visitors that its more popular neighbouring attractions has - but that helps keeps... More

The food served at the restaurant is at best tepid. Never mind there is a microwave if you don't mind queuing and can work it. Very poor.

Not a good experience having tea at Baddesley- one of my favourite properties. the wait in the queue is pretty horrendous on a busy weekend, the restaurant serving area is just quite inadequate, whereas the seating areas cater well for large numbers. The menu for lunch is pretty boring and rather akin to poor school food. Much needs to be... More

If you are in the area we fully recommend a visit, nice bit of history along with friendly staff and a nice cafe with good coffee and apple crumble. Most likely to return in the summer and see the grounds in all their glory.
