We have eating in both the restaurant and the two bars and found the food and ambience are good where ever you dine. Daily special change, very attentive and friendly staff help to make eating here always a pleasant experience.

The best weather to visit in is just after rain so that the "spout" is full. The worst weather to visit in is just after rain so that the path is muddy and slippery. These are the conditions during our visit. The river was in...More

One of the best waterfalls on the N.Y Moors and not too hard to get to, though you do need to be fit and able and have some decent footwear. Check the maps, and you'll there are two ways to access it, and of course...More

We started the walk from the Mallyan Spout Hotel down a well established path which proved to be quite steep in parts and very uneven in places. On reaching the river at the bottom of the path the well signed route to the left was...More

The walk along the river is over rocks which can be slippery after rain and the path is also muddy in places so make sure you have sensibke footwear and not trainers like we saw some people in. The waterfall was not as impressive as...More

Not a huge amount of water in the waterfall at the moment (10th Oct) but a nice walk along the river. Make sure you have suitable footware as stones and paths can be muddy and slippery.

Unfortunately it was a tad wet when I visited so I thought that the photography would be a bit hit and miss, finding the footpath was a bit of a challenge as it has rotted at the base and is leaning against the wall, there...More

Really enjoyed this walk but you must be agile enough to step over some big rocks to get to the waterfall. Once there it's lovely. Only a 20 minute walk but you can keep going for a much longer and more challenging walk.

We had our dogs with us all of the time we spent there. The walk is in open countryside and is a public right of way, and the pub at Beck Hole welcomes people with dogs into the courtyard garden. If you wanted to go right to... More
