A hidden gem in the foothills of himalayas
Sep 2019
I was on my offbeat Himachal Ride, in the last week of September and the monsoon was also going so I didn't find rain during my ride but when you ride during or right after the monsoon the mountains show you the amazing scenery which you can't see in another season.
The road condition os last 6-7 km is a bit bad, you may find bad patches. Barot is a small village and it is basically built by the Britishers for their hydropower station. it is situated on the bank of UHL river you can find a campsite here so you can camp over here also and enjoy the fishing in the river bu taking permission. I stayed in a hotel white stone which was good and the food was amazing. you can trek to Col Batie house it is a small hike and you can see Barot from the bird-eye view. you can also trek to nargu wildlife sanctuary it is nearby also you can pay a visit to bada garam which about 15 km from Barot and a very scenic drive will lead you there.

Barot valley is a standout amongst other travel goals in Mandi (HP). Barot is a little town on the Uhl waterway banks (Uhl river). This waterway is the first in nation that has been utilized for delivering hydro-power.

A serene hidden gem
Oct 2019
Barot Valley was the best thing that happened in my Bir trip. The valley is breathtakingly beautiful and will bring about a stillness in you. Ours was a day trip, but I recommend staying in a nearby Homestay for a day or two to soak in the vibes of this place. If you love eating fish, this place is a paradise for you. Don't forget to grab your bite of fresh trout fish!

Trouts at Barot
Oct 2018 • Couples
A valley, weather is always lovely.
A tip: Yes in mountains always reach in day light. We reached at 8pm and everything (means everything except river) was close and sleeping. Food is difficult outside, need arrangements in hotel itself.

Trout is must have.

Rest enjoy nature you are going to a beautiful place.
