Recommended by a friend, we took a half day trip here. The weather was good, the blue village looks special. In order to promote the movie ‘Smurfs’, this village was selected and painted from white to blue...of course some of the simple and popular animated...More

Despite some of the negative reviews Juzcar provided a pretty back drop for a fun day out. 5 year old loved being on the 'hunt' for Smurfs, while the grown ups enjoyed the views and lovely little streets with many pretty casas. With the exception...More

The buildings in this town were painted blue by Sony Pictures to celebrate the premiere of the Smurf movie from 2011. It's a typical pueblo blanco in Andalucia, but in this case it's a pueblo azul. We visited Juzcar i october 2017. Quiet and peaceful...More

Visited in August 2017 with two children who found it boring. Very narrow winding road and no one gives way. We found locals inhospitable. Its blue and thats all I can say about it. Give it a miss.

Such a pity that an effort was made to paint this lovely village blue and put in some smurf memorabilia, but that's it! Nothing to see or do, no actual fun to be had by our three children 13, 11 and 9 who are all...More

We found this by chance as driving out to the mountains. It was so unusual. A whole village, all houses painted blue for a film for Smurfs! It was so cute.

We were heading for Ronda, in the mountains above Marbella anyway, so decided to explore the village of Juzcar. This village was painted Smurf Blue after the producers of the 2011 film The Smurfs approached the villagers about filming there. Although the film makers offered...More

Although we only visited juzcar because it stood out from the other white villages for being blue, it is a nice place to spend the night. They've kept the blueness but not necessarily kept it as perfect as they could have done. If you can...More

There are a couple of smurfs left in the village, one has to really look for them. There is also the Gargamel. People complaining about mountain roads should stay home as the blue village is a mountain village and one must... More

The drive to the village is NOT hazardous, it is a mountain road which is narrow at many points but two cars can pass just take it slowly. Wheelchair friendly is a bit much. I have seen wheelchairs in this village, but keep... More
