We used this company to rent a canoe to travel down the river. They were very good, spoke english, took care of our needs and provided transportation back to the home base where our car was parked. They had a container for our shoes, camera...More
We booked the 4 hour (you do it in your own time, just an advisory time) trip from Carsac to Beynac. We were staying in Beynac and booked with the office there. Basically a coach comes along at your alloted time, picks you up and...More
We hired a three man canoe and were ferried in an airconditioned bus from Beynac to our point of departure on the river. The views of La Roque-Gageac and Beynac et Cazenac were breathtaking from the water; far better than you can see from land....More
This was a perfect way to spend several hours during the current hot summer in the Dordogne. We spent just over two hours canoeing from Vitrac to Beynac, and then arrived in time to have a leisurely lunch! It was easy to book with Perigord...More
Renting a kayak and travelling from Vitrac to Beynac was the perfect activity to end our trip to the Dordogne. Seeing the sights from the water is wonderful. We took a picnic and pulled up on one of the many beaches along the route to...More
This is a wonderful fun trip. It was fun to hop out and jump in the river when we got hot. We pulled up on a rocky shore had lunch and continued on. 15km distance was perfect. It took us 4 hrs. Very leisurely
My family loved our trip down the Dordogne, it was a highlight of our trip. We rented around 2pm, a canoe for three plus the container to store in. I had heard there were footwear requirements, but no one looked at our feet or cared...More
We did the Vitrac to Beynac canoe trip and it was very scenic and pleasant. Unfortunately, it took us much longer than the 2.5 hours. We were told that once we passed the first bridge we would have gone half way. We passed it in...More
We did route #1 from Vitrac to Beynac, an easy downstream paddle of 15 km (about 10 miles) which leisurely takes about 2-1/2 hours, but longer duration if you make stops along the river bank. Unrushed awesome experience, combining nature and views of chateaus. A...More
This adventure met our needs perfectly. After many self-guided town walks and guided venues, this was a great adventure with nature. The excellent Sarlat-Le-Caneda Tourist Office staff offered to ring the company on our behalf and make a booking which included picking us up on...More
Hi, there are multiple places you can pull up the canoe so I don't see why you couldn't. You are given a map of the river and it indicates on there where you can get food. Probably the best looking place to eat/visit from... More
Hi, there are multiple places you can pull up the canoe so I don't see why you couldn't. You are given a map of the river and it indicates on there where you can get food. Probably the best looking place to eat/visit from the canoe would be La Roque Gageac.
Essentially if you start early enough you have more than enough time to stop multiple times. As long as you get the canoe back by 6-7pm it doesn't really matter.
Hope that helps!
